Wires crossed!!

Hi ladies,

Finished my last chemo on Friday and was so rellieved,
Then yesterday I had strange shakings in my chest . I rang the hospital, was rushed in, after lots of questions and two ECG tests was told that I needed to be admitted…
Of course I was very frightened. I thought that my body was just giving up on me.
I was woken at 11 pm by a very red faced doctor who told me that unfortunately when the second test was taken she had placed some wires over to the wrong places. When they compared the results the up blips in one went down in the other and the down blips went up. If you see what I mean.
Anyway rather than announce me dead they sent me home this morning.
Now having laughed so much [I an renowned for getting my wires crossed] I feel much better than I did before all this happened.

Oh Margaret

What a bloomin fiasco!! Its a good job you have a good sense of humour - someone else would have died with fright! Just goes to show how unreliable technology is in the wrong hands. did they get to why you had shakings in your chest in the end??!

Oh dear - sorry but I had to have a laugh too. Glad you could see the funny side of it too tho. As Cathy asked … did they discover what the cause was or were they just too embarrassed and chucked you out at the earliest possible moment?

Hi Margaret
good for you on finishing your chemo, u r so lucky. Bad luck on hospital fiasco though, good job you can laugh about it, dont think I would have done!! Makes you wonder, could the machines have been wrong about my diagnosis!!! doubt it!!! what a lovely thought tho!
what is the next step now that chemo is over? I will be celebrating so much when mine finishes, even though I will have an operation ahead of me.
enjoy your time now and best wishes

In all honesty I don’t usually tolerate fools gladly but this doctor was so very kind to me. during the tests and when explaining that I should stay in the hospital.
When she was apologising and explaining how the mistake had been found, I got the impression that she was in a lot of trouble. It seemed pointless in making the situation worse for her.
and,I was so pleased to know that I was alive and kicking
They were not very clear as to what had caused it, perhaps chemo, but I am to contact them immediattely if it reoccurs or if I have dizziness etc.
I am having the strange experience that none of this is happening to me - sort of I’m outside looking in…will say no more!!!

Deb your time wiill come when celebrations are in order. Me this whole episode had tired me out so I’m off to bed.

Hi margaret - sometimes you need somethig like this to bring you back to normal! Sounds like the timing was perfect" - for you anyway!!!
