i was diagnosed with bc 6 weeks ago and had a WLE. The results came back and i needed another WLE (they hadn’t got enough margin) and an SNB. I’ve just come home from surgery a couple of days ago. When I first saw my boob I fainted! I feel like frankenstien’s monster.
Now have to wait til next week for results am terrified i’ll need more surgery.
Will it always feel like this??

same thing happened to me . I think its pretty common not to get the correct margins first time around (at least my nurse told me that after the event !) At least now they know how much more to take. My second path report was clear but I asked my surgeon before the op did he expect any suprises and he told me he was very confident it would be clear.
I also feel a bit mutilated to say the least but when the treatment is all over I promise myself I am going to get myself sorted out .

I was quite ‘happy’ to put up with the shape of my breast after the first op and even showed my husband the ‘damage’ - unfortunately it’s not so pretty after the second op and I’ve not dared show him - we’re really quite shallow and my breasts have played a large part in our 38 year relationship - will I ever want to remove my bra in bed or on the beach again? I’m 54 and don’t feel too old to be doing either.
I’m getting my results on October 25th so will be thinking of you

Thanks girls I really appreciate the support. My husband has been wonderful and says he loves me no matter what but I still feel insecure. I know that sounds shallow but everywhere we’re bombarded with pictures of women being a certain shape. Just before this I had just got my figure back, going on a year’s long diet and exercise plan and now this. Anyway good luck to you both I’ll be thinking about you. Let me know how you get on

I got some good news today. The cancer hasn’t spread to the lymph nodes so no more surgery!!!
Have got my promotion to the rads league and am looking forward to my Tamoxifen induced flushes = )
I will be thinking of you all. Keep smiling (it makes them wonder what you’re up to)
