I have just had my second FEc and will be going on to Tax on my fourth session. My mouth was all furry last time but my dentist suggested Genegel mouthwash which has really helped this time. Also lemon sorbie is really refreshing (cant normally stand the stuff!)The nurse said during my last chemo that tax was better than fec but it sounds bloomin awful.
Personally I have found Tax worse than FEC as far as side effects … but we are all different, I know. I had no taste issues with FEC but have about 10 days when I have no taste at all on my last 2 Tax cycles. I also have discomfort in my nail beds and teary eyes, neither of which were a problem for me with the FEC.
Just take it as it comes, everything is temporary and we are on the road to being cancer free.
