i really worried, i went to the doctors about 4 months ago regarding something else but also showed her this tiny little lump in my left breast, she told me not to worry and that it was just fatty tissue. 4 months on i noticed it had got bigger, was angry red and purple. the doctor gave me penicillin after knowing i was allergic to it but want to try me on it again, which made me sick. the doctor has sent me for a mammogram on tuesday, i am really scared of having it done and even thought about just ignoring it and hoping it would just go away. Ive been told i have to go back to work after but im not sure how im going to feel. mixed emotions constantly run through me.
Hi seakelp, firstly please please dont even think about ignoring the lump and not going. Most lumps are benign but whatever the problem is the earlier it’s picked up and treated the better. And if u didn’t go it’s just going to continue worrying u more. The mammogram is a bit uncomfortable but not painful and only lasts a few minutes. Are u having an ultrasound as well as I went to a one stop clinic where they do it all in one appt. Take someone with u for support and if u don’t feel up to going to work then they should understand but sometimes it can take your mind off it, it did for me. Anyway try and remember that most lumps are benign,u could ring the helpline on here if u need to talk to someone tomorrow, theyre really good and pls let us know how u get on, take care x
