I’ve had our debt hanging over our heads for quite a while and been getting more and more worried about it and wondered if anyone knows of any cancer-sympathetic debt people that can advise.
Basically speaking we’ve had a financially cr*p few years, redundancy, depression, now BC and I have built up £13k of debt.
That doesn’t sound too bad but it’s costing me £250 a month on minimum repayments. I don’t have a job at the moment.
We also have a house to do up. What our plan was for us to both be working at the same time, clear our debt then get a loan out for £10k to fix our roof and start on improvements, phase 1 of our house.
I just don’t know what to do, we’re not going to get out of this hole, and we’re unlikelt to be able to clear our debt and get a new loan after I’ve had BC.
A really good place to start is your local Citizens Advice Bureau. A few years ago I had financial problems when my then business was struggling and they were brilliant.
Thanks guys CAB here useless, months waiting list.
I’ll try the helpline here, just dreading bad news and been putting it all off. We bought a “do-er Upper” house 3 years ago and had nothing but sh*t financially since, mostly through no fault of our own.
Here’s a link to Macmillan cancer support, the webpage you will be directed to contains information and advice about financial help and benefits available.
