Worried about discharge

Hi everyone. After picking your brains again. I had a small clearish vag discharge today when I went to the toilet its the first time this has happened. I havent had a period since I started chemo and I am now jist on Tamoxifen Herceptin and Pertuzumab. I feel well apart from itching which is now carming down and my last scans were clear rendering me NED. However my worry head wonders why I have had a discharge, although I do think that it might be the Tamoxifen and just my body getting used to the drugs. I dont see my onc for another year and dont see the nurse practioner until later this comimg month. I have made an appointment to see my GP just to get checked out. Has anyone else had experience of this or am I just over re acting. Thanks for listening.x

Hi Ellie

Congratulations on your NED result - hurrah for another year.

I am a geat believer in the ‘if in doubt check it out’.  My GP told me I am never wasting their time - they would rather say ‘you’re OK, nothing to worry about’ than ‘why didn’t you come sooner…’.

You don’t say what age you are but I suspect our poor body is just beginning to wake up a bit after the onslaught of all your your treatment.  I am sure if there is any concern they wll take a swab to get checked out and if need be refer you to the appropriate specialists.

Take care and have a Happy New Year

Jacqui

Hi ellie, it sounds as though your oestrogen levels may be rising and you may have a return of your periods in a while if left. Just my hunch as this happend to me and after several years of chemo. Have you been offered anything to prevent your periods returning? Tamoxifen alone won’t stop them returning and especially being NED, :smileyhappy: in your shoes I would want any slim chance of periods returning stopped. Don’t let the GP fob you off. I was nearly 50 when mine returned. I wish I’d been more pro active as I was very laid back about everything and after a year of periods a CT later found bc to one ovary. Perhaps this would have happend anyway but I should have done more at the time. Don’t worry if you need another appointment sooner at the hospital, it’s not over re acting. X
