I have been advised by my oncologist to stop taking arimadex after 5 years and 8 months. I am worried about the cancer returning. What are the statistics re this? Does anyone have any information regarding this? Thanks
Me too. I’m due to stop taking Arimidex in March after taking it for three and a half years (one and a half on tamoxifen) I asked the consultant about it at last review clinic and it appears there is no information on how long it is best to take Arimidex for prevention of recurrance. But I found this on my search for the latest info myself,
I’m getting nervous about stopping ‘the safety net’ (rubbish prognosis but doing fine). Might be nice to get rid of the side effects though, if indeed they do go! How do others feel? Best wishes to you rowann
me too,
i started taking my Arimidex in 2006, been told i’m on it for 5 years.
Although i am not near my finish date yet, i am still worried what may happen when i stop taking it.
The side effects were awful when i first started taking it, but seem to have eased these days.
I would like to know the statistics too?
