Worried about surgery

Hi is there anyone on here who has had LD Reconstruction, all I hear are negative stories?

Hi no its definitely not all negative. Ive had mine for 22 years LD with under muscle small implant. At first it took a bit of getting used to with a bit of nerve pain and tightness but it has served me very well all this time.

Ive had a recurrence in the last year in the skin envelope so have had the old implant replaced and a WLE. This time I’ve had radiotherapy which seems to be causing some issues with the new implant.

Think your main consideration is probably whether you need an implant with the LD and radiotherapy. Its not the LD thats the problem. Happy to answer any questions xx

@emmski welcome to the forum, we are all here for you.

I can understand how worried you must be about your upcoming surgery I had LD reconstruction about 11 years ago, I now understand that not many hospitals carry out this procedure any more, I did have problems, feeling very uncomfortable and lopsided (I don’t want to worry you) but think you need to find out as much information as you can, maybe contact a plastic surgeon for more information, before making any decisions

Wishing you lots of health and happiness going forward.
