hi all, im new and this is my 1st post. i have been having alot of health worries over the last year and im really worried i could have something serious. it all started couple years ago when i noticed i was having alot of different symtoms. diarreoh 1st, then came the bloating, wind, gas and mild stomach pains. weight loss(11st4 to 9st10 in 3 weeks) also extremely painful periods. then came the backache, pelvic pain, hip pain, these symtoms all seem to be getting worse as the months go on. anyway i went to see my doc july last year.blood tests was normal, the only thing was blood glucose was boderline). swobs and smear 2 check for infection all came back normal. had a pelvic ultrasound, which revealed many fibroid tumors, the biggest 3 being around 4cms and a polyp,on my uterus(womb) which my gyne told me the polyp needed to be removed through laparoscopy. the op went ahead in october. results the polyp was benign( sigh of relief ). he never really said anything about the fibroids, just said we will leave them because of my age (37) and refered me back into my gps care. ok so next came a colonoscopy which revealed 3 polyps, they was removed and the results was 2 hyperplastic and 1 adonema( precancerous the doc told me) and now i have to have repeat colonoscopies every 3 years. ok so now my diareah has gone but my back and hip pains seem to be getting worse. i just feel as though something isnt right. over the last couple of months i found a lump in my right breast, its the size of a pea and feels hard, i let my period come and go and it still there, over the last couple of weeks my body as been really itchy, a little red and blotchy looking. i have been feeling and doing checks around my pelvic area recently because of the fibroids and i found 2 lumps either side of my groin. back 2 the doctors i go (i have been off work 9 weeks now from the pains and aches in my back and pelvic region). my doc on hol so i saw a locum doc on friday, he did a breast exam and said that i have quite nodular breasts? he doesnt think it anything serious, said it might be an adonema and will send me 2 the breast clinic within 2 weeks. the groin lumps he said are my lymph nodes and he will mention them in my referhal. he said they might be nothing but lymph nodes could mean something serious. i have my appoinment next friday. im so worried. i worry it might be uterine cancer and not really fibroids or breast cancer. thankyou 2 anyone who reads this, i know it really drags on. from nikki
Hi nickinak,
Don’t apologise for ‘going on’, thats what we’re here for, to ask questions, share worries (& good news)and try to help each other.
I’m sorry you have been having problems, it’s horrible when you feel something is wrong but don’t know what. I’m glad your GP has refered you to the breat clinic. Hopefully they will be able to put your mind at rest, but if the news is not what you want and you are unfortunate enough to have breast cancer, I know you will be scared but there are lots of treatments available and you will find lots of info and support on these forums.
The lymph nodes in your groin could be anything and are not necesarily a sign of something sinister, however it will be good to get those checked out too so you know where you are.
Hope for the best but try to prepare for the worst and keep popping in to share your concerns. (Remember though that the site is being upgraded Mon- Wed next week and we can’t post on those days)Maybe ring the helpline?
Good wishes to you, let us know how you get on,
love Julie
Hi nicki. Sorry to hear you’ve had such a worrying time. Although it seems a long time to wait tour appointment will soon come round. We all drive ourselves mad with worry when we dont know all the facts. Has your GP done anything about your weight loss? Also if they’ve done a procedure on you could there be a possibility of an infection leading to the glands being up and the blotchiness. Anyway I’m no doctor. Just wondering about different possibilities. Good luck this week
Polly x
Hi Nicki,
sorry you are having a worrysome time at the moment, sounds like you already have been through a challenging time.
Glad you have your appointment soon, hopefully you will be thoroughlly checked out and given some peace of mind.
In the mean time have some ‘me time’ and indulge in treats if you can even tiny treats, just to help take your mind off things at a worrying time for you.
Wishing you good luck, let us know how you get on, fingers crossed for you that all is fime and sending you positive vibes
Hugs Suze xx
hi again. thankyou for all the replies and well wishes, it means alot and it does help me 2 think positive thoughts. the doc said just keep an eye on my weight, i aint losing anymore but its very hard for me 2 put any weight on. i have thought of maybe infection, with my lymph glands being swollen and because of laparoscopy procedure, so im hoping it is that. i have had my bloods and swobs all done again, so hopefully will know more when they come back. thanks again, hugs love nikki
I second Julie’s suggestion, give the helpline a ring. They are really good and know what they’re talking about, and it’s very nice to have a friendly voice to talk to as well as typed words on a screen.
also any ideas why my vein would collapse? when the nurse was taking my blood sample friday, my blood just stopped coming when she got to the 3rd tube, she only got to fill it a quarter of the way and no more blood would come. love and hugs, nikki
