Worried

Hi all,

Over the past couple of months I have had problems with my lymph nodes under my arms flaring up every couple of weeks and was re-assured by my doctor that everything was okay. Then 3 weeks ago I found a small hard pea sized lump in my right breast, have been to the doctor and they have ordered a mammogram for me on this wednesday.

During this time I have had my period and it hasn’t got any smaller or disappeared (like I was hoping!) but has actually got slightly larger. The doctor advised when I first went to see him, that it was more than likely nothing to worry about but for some reason they have brought forward my appointment by a week.

I know I’m probably worrying about nothing as I am 26yr old, but with my grandmother having BC I can’t stop worrying.

Could anyone advise if they have went through something similar?

Hi,
Its always best to get any lumps and bumps checked out.But the worrying is never easy.
When I was younger, early 20s I had a swelling under my arm that seemed to respond to my cycle and would flare up a bit each month and if I changed my brand of Pill.I also had a pea sized lump in my breast which was diagnosed as a Fibroadenoma. This is a benign breast condition and it was never removed.
Although I have now been diagnosed with BC (last year at 44) ,it is not related to my earlier problems.
I hope yours turns out to be nothing to worry about but always best to get checked.
Good luck,
Dot
