Hi Blueyegirl,
My friend also had a tumour on her kidney, which was found about the same time as her bc!(10 years ago) she was also told they were not related. which l found strange, but seemingly they were not related.
She did go on to have one of her kidneys removed, with no further problems, it was benign, a week after her op she was up and running! well almost!
Good Luck with your chemo
Sandra x
Hi Bluey girl not been on this post for a while and now I see that you have had a very worrying time and I do hope that the 2nd opinion is encouraging for you I think we might all have some anomalies in our organs that we had never known about until we have CT and MRI scans it is always so awful waiting for results and once an opinion is sought and a treatment plan if necessary is in place hopefully you will feel better. Expect that you will have received your bra from Bravissimo as they are quick on the mail order anyway hope you are more comfortable with the passage of time from your op.Think this might be the least of your worries. Sending you (((Hugs ))) Jackie
Hi Sandra and Jackie,
Thank you so much for your messages. Fantastic to hear that your friend is doing so well 10 years on Sandra!! I’ve felt an emotional wreck the last few days, but today has been better! My husband has pointed out that I’m very lucky to have had the CT scan and for it to have been spotted. I’m going to try not to worry about it and concentrate on what’s happening now. Not alot else I can do really! I think we all have enough coping with the treatment plan. I’ve been very lucky to have met a lovely lady this week who is a month ahead of me and who lives quite close. She’s very positive, and we’re going to meet again in a couple of days.
yes the bra arrived and is perfect! Thank goodness for Bravissimo!! Hope everything is going well for both of you. xx
Hope you are having a better week this week blueyegirl! It really help when you got someone to share, its not that easy for outsiders to understand, even though everyone is usually most empathetic.
With regards to your arm, I had my ANC in February and it’s healed well, I am keeping it mobile and have very good range of movement again. I had my treatment in the same place as you, so let me know if I can be of any help! Big Hug, it’s so frightening at first, but once you get started with the chemo, you can count down the sessions and it feels a lot better! Tinaxx
Hi
I’m two and a half years from dx but when I had my initial scans they showed lesions on my liver and adrenal gland. I was worried sick but they re-scanned after a couple of months and they were cysts!
The wonmderful machines that we have now pick up every lump and bump, many of which are never picked up unless we’re tested for something. I was told that most people have lumps which are benign.
I know that you’ll be worried sick (I know I was) but the chances are that they are benign. Fingers crossed.
With regards to your surgery. I had node clearance which did cause me the most trouble. Full movement came back pretty quickly but even now my arm aches sometimes and my armpit is still numb. You learn to live with it.
Life is good now and it will be for you.

Hi Mal,
Thanks for your post. It was a huge shock last week. I have to admit I have lost some sleep over it, but I’ve put things into perspective now and realise that I’m lucky really that it’s been spotted, whatever it is!! At least they’ll be keeping an eye on it. Feeling much more positive again and ready to get on with the treatment. Great to hear that you’re out the other side and feeling well. Looking forward to that! Keep well! xx
Hi
So glad that you’ve got things more into perspective. You have enough on your plate with chemo looming and hope it goes as well as it can do. Just go with the flow and listen to your body. You’ll soon be out the other side.
Take care
Mal
Hi ladies,
Haven’t been on for a while. Finally started chemo this week, after a few set backs last week. Had a couple of very sick days, but it’s a lot better today. I started the day feeling very good, so did a bit of cleaning and washing, not overboard I thought, but by lunch time felt very shaky! Too much too soon maybe. I had to phone tesco to complain about something on my online order and ended up in floods of tears!! Poor woman on the other end! Felt such a fool! Have sat down all afternoon but still not feeling too good. Sorry, just needed a bit of a moan i think. I guess it’s normal to feel like this after chemo!
Karen xx
Hi Karen,
The best thing to do is just to listen to your body and if it’s telling you to have a rest then just do that. I used to be very hyper with the steroids they give you to take for a few days and often had insomnia because of them. I would use those bursts of energy to do the housework (I swear my house was never cleaner than when I was on FEC chemo lol). However, 3 days after chemo I would have to stay in bed for a couple of days when the fatigue kicked in. During those times I would just watch TV, read magazines if I could concentrate enough and I would just nap - I had a little cat at that point and she would nap alongside me to keep me company.
Don’t worry about having a little moan, it’s what the site is here for!
Just take care of yourself and be kind to yourself - the hardest thing for me was having to be selfish at times, but at the moment you must put yourself first.
I’m 4 years down the line and currently feeling fine, it just takes time to get back on an even keel again.
Thanks Cherub. I’m feeling much better this week. My main problem at the moment is my mouth/throat and stomach which seems to be very sensitive to everything I eat! I can’t even manage my beloved pineapple juice! I’m hoping this will pass in the next couple of days. I’ve had a very good mouth wash from the chemo nurse and it definately helps between eating.
Great to hear that you’re doing well after four years. Thanks for taking the time to check the forum. love Karen x
