Hi, New to the site although I have been reading avidly since finding a lump in my breast a month ago. Had a quick referral to Breast Surgery Clinic, my appt 2 weeks ago and had a mammo, US and Core Biopsy taken. Actually had two lumps, the first they said was a cyst, the second they are confident is Fibroadenoma. I rang my consultants secretary today regarding when I would get my results and she said that there was a meeting to discuss my results on Thursday and I will get a phone call or letter after that. I have been quite confident with the hospitals original diagnosis but now they are meeting to discuss my results it has made me very nervous. Do all results go before a meeting or is it to discuss anything else that they are not happy with. Thank you ladies.
Very often the entire ‘team’ will meet to discuss all biopsy results and treatment options, so don’t read any more into it than that - just be reassured that all the professionals who ‘might’ be involved, are being involved - right from the beginning. Phone your breast care nurse if you’re still uncertain - I’m sure she can reassure you as to what your hospital’s standard policy is, and if this team meeting is as normal as it, honestly, sounds.
Good luck, I’ll keep it all crossed that everything is exactly what they think it is.

I know it is a horrible worrying time and, no doubt, your imagination is doing overtime. I don’t know if every case has a ‘meeting’ to discuss symptoms, but I would be inclined to trust the doctor’s diagnosis.
Please let us know the results.
