Hi mum71 and welcome to the BCC forums
In addition to the support you will receive here shortly I am posting a link to the BCC breast health publication which you may find useful to read and please do call our helpline to discuss your concerns on 0808 800 6000, weekdays 9-5 and Sat 9-2.
Take care
Lucy
Hi Mum71
sorry to hear of your worries. Just want to say, dont sit and worry at home. Id get another appt with your G.P. as Im sure they would rather see you. And remember, your G.P. is not an expert on breast matters and should refer you on to a suitable clinic.
Good luck
Cathie
Definitelty go back, as cathie says: they don’t have any specialist knowledge, which becomes very apparent once you have it!
Remember - it’s their job to sort you out, you won’t be wasting their time.
Yes - you should go back and ask to be referred to clinic. My GP thought I had nothing to worry about but referred me to reassure me that lump was OK. Unfortunately, I was found to have cancer.
The clinics have all the skills and equipment and hopefully can tell you it is nothing to worry about but its best to be on the safe side

Hi
I’d go back to GP and ask to be referred (insist on) especially as you’re symptoms have changed - you’ll only worry and it’s the people at the hospital/clinic who will do the tests and hopefully give you the all clear and put your mind at rest more than a GP who isn’t a specialist in the field.
