I’m new here, so hello everyone! A bit of background, I’m 2 months away from my 28th birthday and I’m female.
I went to the doctors about 4 months ago with severe bone pain in my legs (still have it). I had bloods done and it showed low blood cells and elevated protein - the doctors havn’t a clue why. So, they sent me for a mammogram. The doctor did a scan apposed to the mammogram and agreed there was a lump or two, but they were small and they couldn’t get a needle into it to check (with it being small).
I thought nothing else of it.
So today I’ve noticed that my breast is mishapen (puckered/pulled) towards the bottom. The other breast is rounded, but the right shows this abnormality. My breast feels quite tender and weird, even sat here typing this it’s like it’s throbbing slightly.
I’m worried because my mother was mis-diagnosed only a year ago - my doctor said she had been scratched by a cat on her nipple (didn’t even own a cat) and she would be okay. We had to take her to A&E where they diagnosed her with stage 2 breast cancer. She had to have a double mastectomy.
We have breast, ovarian and liver cancer in teh family - through my mum’s side. Her father, mother, sister and her had cancer (scary) - but they said we don’t qualify for gene testing.
I have 3 older sisters and our family is predomiinently girls.
I hope someone can help me.
Sorry for such a long post.

Hi kayleigh39
I have just read your post with interest as I have also had bad leg pain for a few months now and breast problems. Did your GP automatically associate your leg pain with your breast symptoms then?
I got told bone pain was muscular and had blood tests which only showed low vitamin D levels (dont know why as never had before). Breast symptoms were pain in left one, itching, blue veins appeared and skin looked different. GP said everything looked fine but sent me to breast clinic to play safe. Breast consultant also said the same and wasnt concerned about itching either. Still sent me for a mammo which was clear and an u/s of left one where pain was. That just showed swollen glands and was advised to take 3000g evening primrose oil daily to help relieve it and it has really worked.
Have just had to accept for now that everyone says there is nothing wrong with my breasts but have also had other pains and problems in various parts of my body and am now waiting for appt at orthopaedics and more blood test results.
Just so confusing and worrying isnt it
