Yay - finished rads today!!

Had my last rad today and won’t know what to do with myself tomorrow! It’s a 2 hour round trip to the hospital so it seems to have taken over our lives for the last 3 weeks.

Custard/Shonagh - if you read this, well done on finishing your rads as well!

Like I was told by the lovely ladies on here, the rads were a walk in the park compared to the chemo. It was just tiring having the daily trip there.

So, now it’s tamoxifen (will start next Mon) and various other things but not going to think too much about them, just one step at a time…

Hi Nicola

Well done it’s a great feeling to be getting to the end. I finish 5 weeks of RADS on Thursday. I have been on tamoxifen and Zoladex since end January, hot sweats what can i say. How has your skin stood up, I’m a bit a bit red but no broken skin so far.

You should definetely think of something nice to do with your RADs time tomorrow.

Take care

Lesley

Hi there Nicola,

Just got home and thought I would join you in your WOO HOO!!!. Glad to hear you are in good spirits I am feeling a little hyper but Phil has a cold and is really snotty so saving celebration for Sunday (dinner at my sisters with the whole clan)
I thought I was going to have a lovely walk and lunch out with tomorrows rads time but BT are conspiring and have stolen my afternoon to wait in for them to sort out our vision box!!!
Good luck with your tamoxifen and re-inflation, I’ve been on tamoxifen for nearly two months now and have my second zoladex injection on Thursday…it never ends does it!!! So far so good, I do get warm at night and have the occasional warm flush but not too bad.

Just in case I dont see you again this week have a lovely Easter and hope the weather stays nice for your egg hunt with your two little ones.

Love Shonagh xx

Hi

Well done to you all finishing your rads, must feel good to have got them finished. I’m still waiting for a date to start mine think I’ll ring the hospital tomorrow for any news!

Again well done.

Well done!

I finished my rads this time last year and I remember being glad I didn’t have to do the 2 hour round trip to the hospital every day. I managed to get a way for a week afterwards, it was a great morale booster before starting chemo again and then Herceptin. I was very lucky in that I didn’t have too many problems with rads and I felt a bit normal again during the 5 weeks.

Dear Nicola

Well done you. Isn’t it a great feeling? You might miss it for a day or two but then - better things to do. Don’t worry of the “burn” comes out in a few days. It will soon fade.

Take care and good luck with the next step

Hi ladies,

Good news you have finished the rads, well done Shonagh, Nicola and good luck to everyone else. Mine start soon, oh joy. My sister and her crew are coming on Saturday so the kids will be running riot, but it will be great to see them.

Anyway Happy Easter to you all
