Yes Yes Yes

Hi

Does anyone have experience of using this product?  Does it work for you?  Which one do you use (I gather there are oil-based and water-based versions)?

I’ve had vaginal atrophy since chemo over 4 years ago, exacerbated by oophorectomy and taking Letrozole in an ongoing basis.

I use the pre-filled Replens applicators (one every 3 days minimum) which keep me comfortable on a day-to-day basis (just about) and Sylk for intimate moments and intercourse.  However, I was wondering if Yes Yes Yes might be more effective.  Choices are limited as my BC was ER+ so moisturiser/lubricant needs to be hormone free and I also choose to avoid parabens.

Hi skinnyminx

Thanks for highlighting this problem. I’ve been taking Anastrazole since 1/1/2014 (last chemo 9 Nov 2013) and like you the cancer was ER+. I had never heard of vaginal atrophy and when I went to my GP a week ago with a very sore undercarriage she wasn’t sure how to treat it. I’m on a hormonal applicator twice a week for 2 weeks as well as a twice dairly steroid cream. I was wondering what to do long term as the hormonal treatment is out of the question. Neither of the products she prescribed have made much difference but I think these Yes products might be the answer. I’m going back next week so I will mention them then.

Once again, many thanks. x

Hi Skinnyminx.

I read about these products as they were highly recommended by other ladies in the sex and relationship page in the living with breast cancer section but I have looked and can’t find the thread.

I saved the link to the website and will be looking at the products again when i start my hormone therapy.

you can order a starter pack that has both water and oil based, looks like you can use both together which is even more effective.

I will certainly be trying this out at sometime. My last smear test was agony so I know it’s another problem that will need to be addressed.

let us know if you try it out and it works.

take care

Hi

Thanks for the answers.

I understand from the ‘Yes’ website that it’s now available on prescription in UK so I thought I might make an appt to discuss with my GP and perhaps give it a try.

The Practice nurse found it impossible to do my most recent smear last year, as it was so painful for me that I withdrew consent before she’d got very far with the speculum.  So I had to have it done at gynae outpatients - still hurt thought, only thing that persuaded me to continue was the fact that I would have to have gone back for sedation or even GA to have it done  :smileysad:

Will let you know if ‘Yes’ proves to be the answer!

Yes, I’ve used it and its great - makes such a difference not to be anxious about lack of lubrication. Both oil based and water based are good but you can’t use oil based one with condoms

I’ve used both types and so good not to worry about lubrication - you can’t use oil based one with condoms and you don’t need too much
