Yipee

Hi all, had my last Herceptin this week. And my veins lasted out, just. 21 months since I started this horrible journey and living proof that it is doable. Now just need the reconstruction and I can have my life back again.

Best wishes to you all, Maggie

Hi Maggie,

Well done and congratulations on finishing Herceptin, I’m at the other end of the scale as I have just had no. 3 - I don’t want to speak too soon, but I haven’t had any side effects yet.

I am also having a reconstruction next year, and then, hopefully, that will be it!!

Good luck to you,

Tracy

Hi Maggie,
Well done on the completion of a long and arduous journey !!!
I can’t wait to complete mine but more than two thirds there. Decided not to have recon. just Tamixifen to do for 5 years.
Best wishes for the future,
live every day to the full,
love Kay x

Good luck to you both. Tracy, what kind of reconstruction? I’m having diep. Kay I wish I could accept my lot like you, but I can’t, even though I’m scared of the recovery period after the op.

Love Maggie

Hey Maggierg
Congratulations on finishing your journey, I have 4 more Herceptins to get for which I can’t wait, I also take Tamoxifen as well and I have to say I feel I have not yet come back to the level of fitness I used to have. I have been told that 2 /3 months after you finish Herceptin you do start to feel much better.

Please tell me this is the case so I can get fit and try to lose weight for my new boob, hopefully sometime next year.

Heather xxxx

Hi, thanks for your posts girls. Heather, I felt fit enough during Herceptin and maintained this afterwards. Have just had my Tram reconstruction (vessells weren’t good enought for Diep) and I am delighted with my lovely new boob and flat tummy. Now I feel “whole” again and positive about the future. Can’t stop smiling every time I catch a glimpse of my new cleavage!

Good luck to you all, Maggie xx

HI Maggie,

Sorry I didn’t answer your message re my reconstruction, I haven’t been online for a while. I’m seeing my PS in November hopefully with a view to having the op after Christmas.

I may have to go down the route of expanders as I am very small (34A) and would imagine the skin will need to be stretched to accommodate an implant. I am hoping the go for an LD flap recon - or the Diep if it means a nice flat tum!

I am so pleased that your op went well and you are delighted with the results, I will be ecstatic if I get a cleavage, it will be the first one I have ever had!!

Wishing you all the very best,

Tracy xxxx
