Hi there, was just diagnosed with breast cancer last week, and it looks like it’s a faulty hereditry gene. Just wondered whether there’s anyone else out there in their 30’s who’s going through something similar x

I’m in Telford. I’m 37 and have two young children.I don’t know about the gene thing but could be likely as my mum died from BC in 1994.
I’ve recently been diagnosed with BC but am still waiting for the full results as I seem to be a complicated case!! I am in for a lumpectomy on the 8th April.

I’m in Telford too but a little older than you being 45. I was Dx in October 08 and I’m currently having chemo at PRH. Horace I haven’t seen the suggestion of the shropshire meet. Can you point me in the right direction?
By the way I have family history too. My sister was dx when she was just 28.

Nicky- I’m being treated at the PRH too. I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago and I’m due for a lumpectomy 8th April. Susanne started the Shropshire meet thread- I’ll move it up a bit!

I also live in Telford and am treated at PRH and RSH . I was dx 2 years ago when I was 34. I have been going to the pink ribbons support group at PRH since I was dx and its brill. If anyone is interested in coming along I would be happy to meet you in the hospial reception or something. We meet on the 3rd weds of every month. Lots of younger women go and its great to meet with others in a similar position.
Emmah - I really hope your mastectomy goes ok. Mr Usman did mine. If you need any help or advice or anything at all then just shout.
Horace - apologies for not gettin in touch for ages. I hope to be at the meet at the end of the month but will let you know for defo nearer the time. Hope your leg is ok!

Hi Emma and everyone - I’m 43 and diagnosed jan 7th at PRH clinic - had surgery - wle and node clearance there end of jan and now having chemo at RSH, I’m out near Welshpool but lived in Telford for years - went to BRJ…I was wondering about the young womens forum thingy - next one is Nottingham I think in June - anybody else thinking about it or been to one?? Kelly - so whens the next meeting for support group - is it 15th? Mary x

yeah the next pink ribbons meeting is on weds 15th. It is at PRH and starts at 7.30 til about 9.30. I am defo interested in going to one of the younger women’s forums but I’m hanging on as I expect there’ll be one in birmingham in the not too distant future.
If anyone fancies coming to the pink ribbons meeting I’ll be glad to meet you in the foyer at prh, just let me know,

funnily enough one of the girls who uses this website met me in the foyer when I went to my first meeting, reckon its a tradition now! I will be happy to meet you, I’m usually there for about 7.20. Good to hear from you and glad you are okay. How did your op go? I have been thinking about you. Are you up and about yet- where did you have to go for surgery?
I’ve just had a second WLE and may need a mastectomy if they can’t get clear margins so will have to wait and find out.
The meeting was on the 15th April I think. Apparanly it is normally on the third Weds each month so I’ll try and find out when that will be in May. I didn’t go to the last one as I didn’t get to see the consultant until 7 pm (2 and half hours late)!!

Heh there freddie, the op went really well and was no way near as bad as I expected. I had it at the Princess Royal and they were great. Was up and about the following day, and out within a week. I have healed really well and will now be starting chemo in 2 weeks. Will be 6 cycles over 18 weeks followed by 3 weeks of radio so that’ll take me through to november, but at least should be ok for xmas!
I hope you’re doing ok at the moment, will be good to meet in person. The next meet is next week on wed the 20th if you fancy it. I’m looking forward to going along and talking with others face to face now lol.

My appointment with the consultant is 3.20 on the 20th so I should be able to go to the meeting as long as they are not running too late.
