I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer (found out last Thurs) and will be having my treatment in the Bournemouth/Poole are and wondered whether there is a group in that area???
hi Di,
you could try starting your own thread to find people in your area eg: “newly diagnosed poole/bournemouth” to see if there are others local to you you can meet up with on here. The Younger Womens forums pop up in different parts of the country and are not held very frequently but if you do get a chance to attend one of these forums in your area, they are excellent. They are over two days and its worth travelling a little way if necessary. I attended one in warrington recently and it was really useful to meet other younger women who have been through or going through treatment. Keep an eye out on the home page events listings.

I’ve just been to the YWF in Bristol this weekend and I can highly recommend that you go if you get the chance to. I spoke to the organisers and asked what other forums they’re doing this year and I am sure they said Bournemouth was one of the locations. Why not ring them on the number above for more info - they are ever so lovely to speak to.
There were 40 women at the forum, plus the volunteers and organisers. There are women at various stages of treatment - some who had finished their main treatments (chemo & rads etc) and some who had had recon or were waiting recon, and there were others who were right at the start or middle of their treatments. It was such a relief to be able to share my experiences with other women my own age.
