—zoladex. —I am new to this website, but noticed that some of you are having zoladex injections once every three months. This three monthly drug is only licensed for males with prostate cancer. Females have to have monthly injections. If found this out by accident, reading the leaflet in the box, and the GP and pharmacist did not know, but rang the company, and it is true. My consultant verified it too. So, take care.

Whilst on zoladex I have put on much weight and suffer from hair growth on face and chin. Any suggestions?

Hi You’re right 3 mthly zoladex isn’t licensed for the treatment of bc but is used for other female conditions e.g. endometriosis. It’s safety has been established, the only difference is that it is a higher dose 10.8mg which releases much slower…my Oncologist advised me to change after a couple of months of being established on the monthly implant.

It is certainly easier for me, one less appointment and one less needle to face.

Love Twinkle xoxo
