Hi, new here. I received my annual mammogram results via email today. “Tiny asymmetric in lower right breast at posterior level. Additional imaging recommended.” Being a Saturday I cannot call my Dr and googling I am getting conflicting results and getting a bit panicked. Any advice?

I’m afraid I can’t help with the query as its not a terminology that I’ve heard, it almost sounds like there is a word missing after asymetric. I suggest if you’ve not already had a response from your Dr then you could ring the helpline number here, or add the question on the ‘Ask the nurses’ section ? This is the trouble with getting results isn’t it, out of context and not with the support of a medic, as lay people we can read anything and everything into it. I’ve heard of it happening at lot in the US, they seem to recieve long detailed medical resports, written for Drs, prior to actually being able to see or speak to anyone. It leads to a lot of stress.
I am wondering if you have contacted anyone yet ?
