I was diagonised with stage 2 breast cancer at this stage
. since it’s in my lymph nodes near the breast they want to do PET scan and CT scan .
so upset
Hi, I was told my biopsy results would take two weeks, but they phoned after 5 days and told me they were available, so, yes, it is possible to get them in 5 days on the NHS x
I did the first bit privately and the consultant still used the same histology department as the NHS. My first biopsy results were available by phone the following week, so that’s 6 working days. However, my consultant hadn’t been expecting anything remotely like the results he got - maybe there’s a rush option.
Basically, apart from our receiving the information we (don’t?) want, there is no great need for speed in cancer treatment. The more data they have before embarking on surgery or chemotherapy the better. NICE has set a maximum delay between surgery and starting chemo as 90 days (I got in by one day!). That’s a LONG wait, believe me, but I was unlucky, with delays transferring from private to public sector. My fault.
Hope you don’t wait long and your results are better than you’r expecting.
