Thanks so much for replying. It’s good to hear that you are doing well & that you are coping so well with your treatments 💕
It’s my first breast clinic appointment. I saw my GP 2 weeks ago today and my appointment is on Thursday
Is this appointment your diagnosis appointment or your initial breast cancer clinic appointment?
I had a lumpectomy in August, luckily no lymph node spread. Started chemo on 1st October and my last one is 9th Feb, literally cannot wait.
Im starting radiotherapy some time in March - dates to be confirmed. It's been an interesting few months but honestly not as bad as I expected and there have been more good days than bad.
A positive attitude is essential.
My friend called them up on Friday and asked if I can take someone and we were told yes just not into the rooms for scans/procedures. What a nightmare for you 😢 what have they done for you as a treatment plan?
I am dreading the appointment..
Wishing you all the best x
My very first appointment at the breast clinic for the mammogram, biopsy and ultrasound was alone. It was at this appointment I was told they thought my lump was pretty likely to be cancer.
The actual confirmation apppointment, I took my mum with me but I already knew it was cancer so it was pretty pointless. I'd processed the possibility of it being cancer by that point, my mum hadn't and she ended up crying, with me comforting her. It was quite bizarre.
Thank you. Wishing you well too 💕
Hello TV1980,
I went for my results appointment & was allowed to take someone with me, I wasn’t sure of this at the time so called the hospital prior to check.
I hope everything goes well for you xx
Do they not allow you anyone in with you to appointments? I have one next week at Aberdeen Royal infirmary and wondering if I can take someone with me. The leaflet that came with appt says you can but I’m hearing conflicting advice. Can’t help but think how cruel it is to make people go through this kinda thing alone 😢
