Pain and lump after mammogram

Hi,

I had a routine mammogram on Friday. I am 46 and deemed high risk as my sister had breast cancer aged 35, and sadly died 6 years ago aged 44. She and I do not have BRCA1/2 genes but I have annual mammograms.

I’ve had mammograms for 16 years, all clear, no problems. However, on Friday I had one ( so no results yet), and on Friday evening I felt a large, hard lump behind my nipple. Not felt this lump before. Went to GP today who has referred me back to breast unit.

I feel  like this lump ( it’s hard, doesn’t feel like a cyst - had one removed before) has been caused by my mammogram. Has  anyone else had this?
