Have I got breast cancer? Breast awareness, signs and symptoms

Hi 

I had early Breast cancer eight years ago high grade MI . No lymph nodes taken out or tested  had Surgery and rads. Three years later another scare and biopsy was done all clear.

 I was told at the time if my cancer came back it would be invasive. Stage 4.

Now been fast tracked for an appointment next Wednesday for swelling in right side of neck spreading down to collarbone and across shoulder and chest  . Haven’t slept for days pacing up and down am very worried cancer has come back into my lymph nodes . If it has I don’t think I stand a chance as I can’t have chemo due to severe allergies and anaphylaxis .

Hi Annya,

Sorry to hear you’re having this worrying time.

I’m surprised you were told that if it came back it could be invasive & stage 4, especially as, a recurrence can be ‘local’ ie within the breast & therefore not at stage 4.

If it’s any help, there have been quite a few ladies here who’ve had this sort of thing, that turns out to be nothing serious, but of course, it has to be properly investigated.

Try not to leap to far ahead, hopefully all’s well anyway.
