You have been fortunate to get such a quick appointment, absolutely the way it should be! All the best Xx
Triple echo Nikkinak of replies, and knowing how doctors' surgeries are on a Monday, if you get 'fobbed off' because there are 'no appointments', then ask that you can speak to the doctor ( my surgery will take outline detail, and get doctor to call me back at end of surgery ). When I have done that, my doctor has invariably said to come in at end of earlier because she actually wants to do her job, and help patients who really need it? I know receptionists have to run a tight ship, but it's not them that we want an appontment with!! Hugs aplenty, and keep busy through today so you get some sleep tonight. x

I just wanted to echo what Jo has said. There are lots of benign breast conditions that can cause a lump and it does not automatically mean that it is bc. The good thing is that you are going to get it checked out by your GP when you phone to make the appointment make sure that you tell them that you have found a lump so that get an apt tomorrow and do not have to wait so that you can get peace of mind.
Sending you hugs

Hi Nikkinak,
It is a heart sinking moment isn't it but So many ladies find a lump seemingly out of nowhere so don't beat yourself up about that, you've found it now and will get it checked out that's the important part. These things always seem to happen at a weekend when you cant do anything about it!
The most likely scenario is it's nothing to worry about, most lumps are harmless that's a fact. There is no sense in scaring yourself whitless googling and filling your head with worse case situations, almost impossible not to do it I know but absolutely pointless, a search of breast lumps will always come up with breast cancer but there are 99 other things its more likely to be.
Try not to let the panic take hold, keep yourself busy and leave it on the back burner until you can see your GP tomorrow, I spent so many days and weeks in a state of panic and fear and it changed nothing other than made an already anxious time so much worse than it need have been.
Xx Jo
