I am 49 years old, born in Cleethorpes, NE Lincolnshire, married for 24 years to a British citizen from Cheshire.
Due to his work we have lived overseas for many years but visit the UK frequently. We are currently living in Lagos, Nigeria, but have previously enjoyed and spent time in the USA, India, Vietnam, UAE and now Nigeria.
I received my diagnosis on April 1st 2014 when we were living in Dubai, UAE where I underwent treatment including 16 rounds of chemotherapy and 28 sessions of radiotherapy, and where I still return for my follow up appointments and check ups.
I browse the Breast Cancer Care website frequently and find the information very valuable and supportive, and in May this year together with some family members and friends I took part in the 10 mile walk around the grounds of Blenheim Palace.

SW London, got my GP referral this Saturday which also happens to be day after my 30th lets hope for positive results. I'm really trying to stay positive even though i am absolutely pooing myself. I trying to stay busy but I can't think straight, and finding that I'm making quite a few mistakes in work 😫. Also feeling quite emotional, someone just has to say the wrong thing and i can feel myself about to burst in to tears for no reason. But lets see what the out come of Saturday is. xx

No, they gave me the choice of Maidstone or Ashford. I'mn from Ashford, so I chose the William Harvey.

I haven't found any support groups locally at all. I've given up now. Thank goodness for this forum - it has been my lifeline!

I just read your other post asking to meet up with people locally. I'm not up to driving as far as Maidstone yet. I just travel 3-4 miles around the local villages when i'm up to it. I finish my chemo on 2nd April, then have a month to recover before my mastectomy and lymph node clearance.

If we keep in touch, I may be able to drive up to meet you in between the two and see how you're doing.

Best wishes with your treatment. Mine is going quite well, i think. I get to have another Ct scan, mammogram and ultrasound when they finish the chemo so they can see how it has gone. Can't wait.

Hi SJB I'm in Maidstone. This is my first time in forum. Im recently diagnosed with secondary BC and finding it difficult to link up with locals too! Seems there's no groups locally but would like to know how others are coping. Have you found anything nearby yet? Are you in treatment at Maidstone Hosp?

There don't seem to be many people from Kent here - just spotted Mand is from orpington, but that's miles from me! Never been there in my life! lol
