Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Thanks Lovewine I actually didn't have light lunch I had chicken pasta decided I needed a pre surgery decent meal. DH walked dog his morning thank goodness and he found some ripe figs dog bags do come in useful on dog walks! I have just used some Greek yoghurt and a fig and the last of the stawberries together with some runny honey and ended my pre surgery feast!
Lisa I hope the weather will be kind to you and you have a great holiday!x

Thanks Lisa, yes probably best to meet up when you get back, have work Monday , Tuesday and dreaded appts too! 😱 would like to catch up again, so when you return from Cornwall maybe meet for a cuppa at wistow, if that suits you? Have a glass of Cornish cider for me, and a Cornish pasty!! The spicy chicken ones are particularly nice!!

Rosie, wishing you all the very best for tomorrow, soon be all behind you!! On that plane wedding bound before you know itπŸ˜€πŸ˜€ have a nice lunch today and a restful night, will be thinking of you tomorrow and the following few days Xx
Nellie, yes I would like to come to lunch too, sounds lovely, especially the blueberries! And yes I know what you mean about picnic chairs they either trap your fingers in them putting them up and down or collapse in a heap usually when you have a plate of food in your hand! Enjoy your day!
Joan, enjoy your birthday lunch, at least you may be able to taste the food!
Wildpurl, your chicken and Stilton sounds delicious- you do seem to have lovely food, far more exciting than mine! Are you a keen cook? It's also nice you grow a lot of your fruit and veg etc as that is much nicer to cook with than shop bought!
Hi Lisa, are you off to Cornwall soon? Hope the weather is nice for you and you enjoy it , it will be so nice to have a change of scene after chemo and before rads, how disappointing you didn't get a tattoo of your choice!!
Cassa, good luck with your first tax and herceptin, it's not as bad as the first three, glad you find our thread helpful, I have found great comfort and support from our lovely group of ladiesπŸ˜€
Jackie, Booksandwine,Eam,jos,Louise, cassie and sorry if missed out anyone! Have a good Sunday.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Just a brief response before we leave for our birthday lunch.

Wildpurl re runny eyes. The oncologist said it was because chemo affects the tear ducts so theyt don't perform their usual function of draining the tears away. I think I assumed that they produced the tears but not so apparently.

Rosie, sorry you're suffering bad side effects from the TAX although good you got some sleep. Hope being under sedation for the op will mean the side effects are not noticeable.

All the lovely food so many of you are describing is mouthwatering and must mean the sense of taste is returning. I have also found that for the first time the horrible taste in the mouth has reduced, if not completely disappeared. On the other hand, despite now being in week 3 of TAX my fingers and feet are still numb and tingly. I also have raised blood sugat levels so have to have a fasting blood test on Tuesday. After that may have to cut out the sweet stuff so plan to have a nice dessert today!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Nellie, yes we do live on an island, so going to boarding school is not that unusual here. At the moment my son is very excited about going. Of course he will probably be feeling a little bit more apprehensive when we actually get on the plane to go! I am going to have to be very brave when we actually say our goodbyes. I'm sure it will feel very weird to walk away and leave him in his new surroundings. Fortunately, we live close enough that he will be able to come home every 3 weeks or so, not like the old days when kids where shipped off in September and didn't come home til Christmas. The hair cut was a great success, number 2 round the sides and a longer bit on top. A lot of gel is now required! It makes him look a bit older so he's well chuffed.
My face is doing exactly the same as you described. This time though it seems more severe. Are you on herceptin and tax? I was wondering if it was the herceptin doing strange things to my hormones. I hope not because I'm not sure I can tolerate this for a year, it is beginning to get a bit stingy.
Rosie, I want to wish you all the best for tomorrow. I hope you get some good drug induced sleeps! Don't be disturbed if you get sent home with a couple of drains in. They are nuisance, but better than ending up with seromas that need to be drained. My hospital provided pretty paper shopping bags to put the drain bottles in which made it easier to walk around and less disturbing for visitors. Sending you a 'virtual' hug for a speedy recovery.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Good morning everyone, Rosie I along with a lot of others will be thinking of you tomorrow and wishing you all the best. Glad DH is able to take on more housework duties now as he will need to for a week or so after your op!
Cassa, good luck with the Tax, I found it not nearly as bad as I feared so I hope it is the same for you.

Nellie, you have got lots of lovely produce there and your dinner sounds lovely

Rolicarpit it is lovely to hear there is life after chemo and I am looking forward to the time when I don't have to go through SEs any more. Less than a week to go till the last one now. I am sure the last few days will go very quickly.
It is interesting what you say about low levels of red blood cells being behind the lack of fitness. I guess that could be the cause, I will have to increase my iron intake!

Yesterday we had a lovely relaxing day at the village rock festival, followed by a delicious meal of chicken breasts stuffed with Stilton and rolled in bacon with new potatoes and mangetout. Today I have a bit of housework to do but otherwise plan to rest as much as possible. I also have a banana cake to make.

Morning Lisa thank you for you good wishes! Shame about the the lack of choice of tattoos! At least you have the next part of the journey mapped. Great idea to get your nan to jam make she will love it! Good luck with the washing!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Morning all,

Rosie - wishing you all the very best of luck and some more for tomorrow .. you are an inspiration, I will be thinking about you the next few days.

sounds like everyone else is getting on with life at the moment which is lovely, it's so nice to read all the things people are doing and planning to do as it's a real indicator that we're all feeling ok and soon you will be feeling ok after the last chemo and will just keep getting better. I've said it before but will say again what an amazing feeling it is to know you're not going to experience the side effects again and I'm wishing the next few weeks away for you all so you can experience it too ! Good luck to those who are going for last chemos this week.

Nellie - I think the same as you about fitness, I'm managed to convince myself its the low blood count and lack of red cells that make me feel so unfit and Wildpurl Im so impressed with your continued efforts to be exercising I just havent been able to do it but have some plans for when I get back from holiday to get back into some exercise ...must shift the wight I've put on for a start !

Rads planning on Friday was completely fine apart from the lack of choice of tattoos, no butterflys or dolphins or anything just 3 small dots, how disappointing lol ... start on 28th July and last one on 25th August

Very jealous of peoples harvests from their gardens, did manage to get some potatos and a few broad beans from ours yesterday which were lovely but most of the potaoes have been attacked by something underground. We will however have plenty of apples, damsons, plums and greengages later on. My nan is coming to stay for a few days in August and I intend to make use of her jam making skills !

Well ... not got a lot planned today, need to sort washing for holiday and chill out.

Hope you all have a great day

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi All,

Tlj I am glad you enjoyed your sons prize giving - well done to both of them - I love those proud parent moments!  Boarding school sounds very grown up and exciting - do you live on an island? as I joined later I missed a lot of background info.

Good luck with the hair cut - we have ear piercing booked for the first day of our holls!  Fortunately only the standard one hole affair as neither daughter has gone too way out - yet!!

Sorry to hear about your face. I had a minor a face issue after tax 1, it went red and puffy the first week but I hardly noticed due to the other SEs. However during the second week it was very dry, peeling and felt thickened and slightly numb, I guess due to the previous swelling. Seemed to settle down on its own and none this time.  I’m not sure if this is similar to yours or any help?

Wildpurl and Lovewine (and everyone else for that matter!) I am impressed with your efforts to remain fit. I wasn’t too bad during the fec, but have become a complete couch potato with the tax!  (Not too worried though as I know that there are dogs and horses waiting for me when I feel better) I also recon half of the fatigue is due to low red blood cell count therefore less oxygen available for energy - an idea/excuse anyway.

Lovewine I hope you enjoy your picnic and your collapsible chair only collapses when required - I have visions of you in a heap on the floor!

We are having a BBQ leg of lamb later with potatoes and salad form the garden. My first cucumber of the season is ready for picking today!  I have millions of blueberries so might also try and think of a dessert with them although as they are fresh I may just serve them with ice cream . I am really looking forward to the meal as I hope (and prey) my taste is beginning to return. Going to pick herbs and make a marinade for the lamb now - a nice quiet job while everyone asleep.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I suffered extreme fatigue yesterday and had aches and pains in legs and tingly fingers and toes . DH fetched take away last night which I polished off very quickly. . Keftiko cucous and veg yum !i was falling asleep asleep all times of the day and finally took myself to bed at 10pm DH said must you go right now you will be up at midnight! But I wasnt I went to toilet but went back and got out at 4.30am so this is much better! My only regret with this op tomorrow is I have not had time to to clear the chemo side effects I am only on day 6 now! I am looking forward to be put to sleep and will hopefully sleep a couple of days away to get rid of any last chemo effects and the anaesthetic . Plan to watch the World Cup final with DH tonight have my final tea toast and marmite at 11.30 pm and then leave home at 6 am tomorrow so we will be up at 5am got to be in Limassol for 7.30am!
Will take my I pad and hope I manage to get a good internet signal it's very .intermittent. You will have to forgive me if I don't catch up with individual posts for a few days. I hope everyone has a good Sunday and good luck to all those facing final chemo this week. DH is back on more household duties thank goodness what a week we ended up having! I expect I will spend most of today on skype to my three lovely children and if I am lucky will get a glimpse of the grandchildren. Xxxx

Wildpurl, I know what you mean, I used to walk my dogs about 4 miles every day easily, now I struggle to do half that and find it very frustrating! The minds willing , but the body won't work!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Yes I have runny eyes even though I still have some eyelashes, I guess more dust or whatever can get in. Don't have a runny nose so far, but the eyes are quite irritating enough, at work I'm always dabbing my eyes with a tissue all day, I think people must think I'm in tears all the time. I hope it stops when the eyelashes grow back.

I'm exhausted after my trip to the gym and a walk to the Farmers market to buy eggs. I don't feel my fitness and strength are increasing at all despite going to the gym twice a week and walking a lot, I'm barely maintaining my initial fitness level. I am so looking forward to being able to increase my exercise levels and get back to a proper fitness and strength.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi Rosie, I can only say what the other ladies say, your surgeon knows you are flying to sons wedding, am sure your friends intentions were good, but sometimes buttoning the lip is the best thing!! As we all know the advice differs widely for all of us for everything!!i have read other ladies threads on this forum and a lot of them have flown only a couple of weeks after surgery, would definitely wear the very attractive surgical stockings though!! Try to put it to the back of your mind and rest up !!
Tij, another stage in your boys life! Boarding school sounds very exciting, although you will miss him ime sure, you obviously live on an island so you must all be used to this way of life, enjoy the school holidays!
Joan, yes my chemo is on Thursday, hoping it's my last! Tax 2 was definitely not as bad, let's hope 3 isn't either, hope you get your phone call on Monday, it's very stressful waiting.
My eyelashes and brows went almost overnight too after first Tax, but fuzz on head, how strange, runny eyes and nose too, tissues stuffed everywhere!
Wildpurl enjoy your rock festival and family visit, make the most of it everyone before next weeks treatments/ stresses again.
Nellie, am looking forward to a picnic I must say- am going to put in a sneaky mini bottle of wine too along with my old lady collapsible chair!
Take care everyone and enjoy the sunshine if you are lucky enough to have it.

Thanks Tlj63 surgeon knows I am going on July 28 th. You must be very proud of your boys both winning prizes. The end of another chapter for the elder one good luck with his haircut!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Rosie, if I were you I would just double check with your surgeon. I flew 2 weeks post op. I have had a mastectomy and immediate reconstruction. The surgeon told me I should be fine 10 days post op. Admittedly, it was only a half hour flight, but as you say as long as you keep moving about you should be fine.
I hope everyone is feeling well enough to enjoy their weekend. The sun is shining here, although I think it may cloud over later. The school holidays have arrived for my boys, prize giving was a success with prizes for both of them. So that was a great way to end the week. My older son has now left the school he has been at for the last nine years and is off to boarding school in September, so it was a slightly strange feeling when we said our goodbyes yesterday. He wants to go to the barbers today to get a radical teenage haircut for the summer holidays. I think he was a bit surprised when I said ok. I am assuming it will have grown out by September.
I'm day 12 post tax and the hot flushes have subsided but my face is on fire. I have bright red cheeks and nose. Not a good look, but in the scheme of things a manageable side effect. Anyone else still got a flushed face?

Joan thank you yes I wish she had not said anything it only takes a seed of doubt doesn't it? Sorry you didn't get you phone call and do hope it will happen early next week!not only do my eyes run but my nose does too there is no hair to catch the run!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Rosie, I think you have to trust your own surgeon's advice and take all possible precautions perhaps leg exercises while sitting as well as walking around. It isn't a long flight after all. I think I have also heard that taking aspirin can reduce the risk though you would need to check that out with a doctor. One of those occasions when it probably would have been better for your friend to have kept stum. You don't need this additional worry. Will be thinking of you on Monday. Hope you manage to get some rest.

Cassie, glad the side effects of TAX have been less this time. This does seem to have been the experience of most of us. Let's all hope TAX 3 will be a breeze! Hope you have a lovely weekend, try not to overdo it.

Lovewine, I see that you are due for chemo (TAX 3?) on Thursday and I know Wildpurl and I are due Friday. Anyone else due this week?

Surgeon didn't ring yesterday. Not very surprised, I know that tends to be their busiest day and I, perhaps foolishly, asked if he could ring in the next feew days.. If he doesn't get in touch on Monday I shall ring again on Tuesday morning.

Nellie, that must have been a shock to have your eyebrows disappear overnight, Like you I think I would be more affected by that than my loss of hair. My eyes run all the time, constantly having to mop up tears so eyemakeup impossible. My head hair seems to be growing too as my eyebrows/eyelashes disappear.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Nellie thank you for your reassurance this really put the wind up me last night! DH and I have just got back from supermarket and he could not stretch to get bags for veg or put things in trolley I sent him back to sit in the car and I had to just get on with! I am going to sit down for the rest of the day!
Have a lovely time with your sister in law and her son for the next two weeks it will take your mind of other things!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Oh dear Rosie, more conflicting advice! I would agree that in the UK advice always errs on the side of caution, we are very risk adverse, so you have to factor that in. I was driving and going to the gym after 4 weeks so 6 weeks seems extremely cautious!
After 2 weeks I was still taking pain killers but could look after myself and do household chores and even cooking during the day. I think you will have to be careful but it should be doable. As for PE, I have been told by my onc that Tamoxifen raises the risk and I will need to do the exercises and wear stockings if I fly long haul while taking it. You can do both of those things, 4.5 hours isn't a very long flight.

All that said, I'm not a professional, but you are under the care of your surgeon who is, so I would be inclined to stick with his advice throughout, he knows you and your case better than your friend's daughter because he is treating you. When it comes to it you will know how you feel and if you can cope.

Right, I've had breakfast and need to go and shower and head off to the gym. This afternoon we are going to the village rock festival which should be a nice relaxing day and then a birthday dinner this evening for my younger stepson. Tomorrow my son and his GF are coming round to see us. I think the weekend will fly past and then before I know it week 3 will be here and I will be going for bloods and checkup!

Hope you all enjoy your Saturdays

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi all,

EAM, your impromptu breast check sounds unusual but reassuring! I think follow up plans are fairly standard for ER+ and HER, but I’m desperately hoping I will be checked more frequently for less time as triple neg tends to recur in the first 3 years if it’s going to. Will find out in two weeks!   Great to hear your hot flushes are wearing off, I feel guilty mentioning them sometimes as it seems such a trivial thing to complain about but in the wee small hours it’s not much fun is it!

Wildpurl sorry to hear your eyelashes have departed, do you find you keep getting things in your eyes as a result? I am very envious of eyebrows in any shape or form - mine completely went overnight after tax and I felt it altered my appearance far more than no hair.  Strange how the head hair seems to be making a valiant comeback though isn’t it. DH complaining I’m too stubbly to cuddle! I’ve been giggling about the prospect of leg waxing - do you think we get it half price as only half the hair?

Joan I hope you get the clarification from your doctor quickly next week, very sensible to have called.  I hope you don’t have too far to go to get your iPad fixed, not sure I could manage one,  it would immediately get β€˜borrowed’ by my daughters anyway!

Cassie I am glad you are finding tax2 more bearable and I think others are too?  Let’s hope this means number 3 will be a breeze! I do hope you manage to enjoy the weekend with your visitors.

Lovewine a picnic in the country sounds idyllic especially if this weather holds I hope you bought some yummy food yesterday.  I’m glad we are having chemo at this time of year - it’s been uplifting to sit in the garden and potter about deadheading flowers I just wish the flies would stop landing on my bare head!

My sister in law and son have just arrived to stay for 2 weeks from New Zealand and it seems a lot of us have outings planned and friends and family visiting this weekend, so fingers crossed for us all.

Have a good weekend ladies!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Oh Rosie,

When are your worries going to stop!  I am sure your surgeon knows what he is doing especially as he is based on the island.  Perhaps we are more cautious here in the UK. There is a generally accepted increased risk of PE when flying for everyone, so with the right precautions in place I am sure you will be fine.  It is maddening that advice varies from doctor to doctor on so many things eg -  I had wildly different advice on driving after my WLE from β€˜when you feel ready’ to β€˜absolutely not for 4 weeks’ how do you know who to believe?! Exasperating and not what you need right now.

I love Pam Ayers! I still have a book of her poems somewhere. Hope you have a relaxing weekend and it does not feel too much like a count down!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

A very good early morning from Cyprus ladies 3.49am! I went to bed at 11pm and took a sleeping tablet was out to toilet at 1.16 and shouted DH who was still at computer catching up on emails . He had spent most of the morning asleep on settee!
Last night I had rather disturbing email from a friend in the uk. Her daughter is an oncologist at Coventry and she said she would get her to check my treatment plan with her surgeon. He said he wouldn't advise patients to fly before 6 weeks after mastectomy as it was major surgery and I may not feel like it anyway and there would be a risk of PE and should ask surgeon for something to reduce the chance. Now as you can imagine just when I was feeling ready to do battle this has but the wind up me. My surgeon knows I am flying on July 28th and said I should be fine by then. Our GP told us of some English ladies that went to Syria from Cyprus for plastic surgery and flew back 3 days later!i have not mentioned this to DH as it will cause us a huge stress! I know it's a tall order especially as my body's is recovering from chemo but ladies you all know that this was my goal to get back to the wedding. Do you thing this surgeon is being very fussy ? I will ask my surgeon if there is anything I should takedown the plane to reduce risk of PE . We have extra leg room seats booked and I am usually up and down to the toilet I don't tend to sit for more than an hour. The flight at worst could be 4.5 hrs. It is a late flight gets into Bristol at 1am we are staying at the Holiday inn overnight . At least if I am unwell I can walk into any hospital and will be understood! It's just the flight now . What a pain my surgeon suggested I had the operation before I flew! I am just going to have to be very positive and really rest up this first week following surgery and keep my legs and feet moving! Oh dear sometimes people can be too helpful. My friend signed off with This is probably not what you want to hear but I wanted you to know the risk!!!

Getting on top of chores slowly Lovewine I can't believe I am now 3 days away from the operation! Good luck with your chemo on Thursday hope it goes smoothly! I am glad your son cleared it was a joke. When my youngest son sees my red face on skype he says are you still taking those tablets mum? DH showed the kids a picture of me on his phone over skype wearing a wig and draw on eyebrows eldest son thought I looked like Pam Ayres!
Cassie have a lovely time with your daughter and grandson this weekend and thank you for your good wishes. I will be back on line as soon as I can!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hello Ladies, Rosie what a rough time you and DH are going through, so many ups and downs, relax as much as you can before the op and I hope all goes smoothly for you.  Day 4 of 2 TAX and at least not admitted or anything drastic this time, bottom eyelashes all disapeared last night but I can live with that and have been expecting it, I have got off lightly to some, so far. I can't wait now for the last TAX and the follow up RAD appointments, its almost exciting! I am looking forward to my eldest daughter and grandson arriving this evening from Gorleston Norfolk. I hope to feel less tired tomorrow so that we may be able to get out and about for a bit, deffinately not wedding dress shopping though, I am not really up to that yet. The venue and church are already booked for next April, bless and my daughter is worried about loosing a little bit of weight, I wish that was all we all had to fret about!

Have a good weekend if I don't manage to get on line again, good luck Rosie X

Afternoon everybody, Joan hope you get some answers soon, sounds like a lovely weekend planned with birthday celebrations, hope you enjoy having everyone around and a very happy birthday for next weekπŸŽ‚ have some cake and a large drink!
Rosie, I love my ipad too, not that keen on deal or no deal, am watching the chase as I am typing this!! Hope you get on top of all your chores before Monday!
Wildpurl , you too sound very busy, I know what you mean by the impending doom of THE WEEK!! By Sunday I start to dread bloods Tuesday, oncologist Wednesday and chemo Thursday!
Eam, busy few days for you with your daughter, she must be a real joy, they are lovely at that age- before they say nice, charming things like my mums 52 and cancerous!! He did follow it up by saying " I have to make a joke of it mum" or find it all too much, it must be very hard for our families sometimes.
Hope the rest of you have nice things planned maybe this weekend? I hope to go with OH and dogs for a walk and a picnic in a nearby country park on Sunday.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Thanks for all your posts and advice. I decided to ring the oncology centre this morning and ask if one of the consultants could ring me in the next few days to clarify what the report had actually said. Hopefully there won't be too much delay. Feeling less despondent today, although my mood was not helped by my ipad seizing up this morning and spending 40 minutes on the phone to technical support trying to get it going again. So it looks like I am going to have to take it back to the Apple Store and get them to sort it out. I hope I can get that organised before chemo (no 6) next Friday; I have come to rely on it for accessing this forum while lying in bed! looking forward to the weekend:  my eldest daughter and partner are coming down to celebrate her birthday and mine later in the week with my other daughter and family who live locally.

Nellie, hope your daughters concert went well; you must be so proud of her. What a shame you can't be there. But maybe the finals?

Lovewine, what a priceless remark from your son. Good job we love them whatever.

Wildpurl, isn't it amazing to be thinking about needing a leg wax. How far we have come.

Rosie, hope you manage to get a bit of rest this weekend ready for Monday. I do think you deserve a medal for fortitude. But if you have to make do with wine! Hope you manage to get some decent sleep.

Hope everyone has the best weekend they can.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Wildpurl well done for going to work and still feel ok to do housework! I am feeling very tired and wobbly it's not been easy dealing with DH procedure this week, however he is cooking the tea tonight. I do keep sitting down and resting watching Deal or no Deal at mo. I have numb fingers and toes today. Just 2 more injections and that's it finished steroids last night thank goodness hoping for more sleep tonight!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Afternoon everyone, just back from work, I managed an extra day in the office yesterday and coped alright and had to drive myself in today as OH was off but still feel OK. I'm a bit tired now but after a rest I think I will be OK to do some housework. I'm glad it's the weekend though as I could do with some relaxing time. Then next week is The Week, last chemo on Friday I hope.

Rosie you are mega busy, so much to get done before your op, I was the same, tried to get everything sorted out before surgery. Do have some down time won't you. I hope you are recovering OK from the chemo.

Love wine teenagers aren't the most tactful people in the world are they, the cheeky monkey! But he loves you really and maybe it's his way of dealing with his own fears.

Joan I do hope you are feeling more upbeat today and have come up with a plan to get the information you need.

EAM you seem to be on good form, glad no 2 has been easier for you.

I still have eyebrows, although they are thinner, and eyelashes, also thinner, and my hair has continued to grow and is getting much thicker, although still very fine. I don't know if the eyebrows and lashes will survive tax 3 but I am hoping they will! I also have some fine hairs on my legs. The onc said I could get them waxed 2-3 weeks after last chemo, so as soon as I've had the last one I am booking myself in for a leg wax.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Afternoon everyone, cant believe i was only on here 2\3 days ago & so much to catch up on!  Have taken little girl to her groups this week - just as much fun for me as it is for her - my only social life at the moment!  She is at the childminders today so am catching up on lots of jobs & planning to be up in the attick this afternoon!

So sorry to hear you had yet more to think about rosie!  You have had many twists & turns, lets hope things go smoothly for you now.  Hope hubby is doing well also.

What a cheeky son lovewine!!

Talking of checkups - i hadnt seen or heard from my urgeon since op in feb then when seeing oncologist on 4th chemo - he popped in had a quick fondle said was happy & said see you in 6months! I think we will all get checked every 6 months for the next 5 yrs?.

More holidays being booked!:)

My doctor told me to drink lots of full fat milk so not sure on the dairy thing?!

Yay last one soon jackie!  Im hoping to have a baby too but wont be a few years yet.  Have to have a planned break from tamoxifen when they say its safe.  Will you be on that?

I wonder if the hot flushes is the chemo too?  They have worn off & its been 15days since my last round.

Hope if the s\e's have kicked in now jos they are not too bad.  My round 2 tax was sore mouth etc but pains only niggly where as first round they where full on!  So hoping last round will be more mild again but at least its the last time i have to go through it so will get through it with that thought!

So sorry you've had a bad few days of news from all angels joan!! Ive heard of the penny brohn too.  Looked into it a bit the other night.  Feel fine at the moment but think when life can go back to normal i will feel a bit lost & left to check myself & get paranoid at every lump,bump,rash...anything!

Xxxx

It certainly will!! Here's to cancer packing it's bags and buggaring off! An exciting trip to the supermarket for us today even sounds quite mundane and appealing - just normal things.
