Re: Anyone due to start their chemo July 2014

Thank you for keeping us all updated Cath. It’s sounds rather trite to advise you to stay positive, especially after what you’ve been through already. Try and keep yourself as busy as possible, like you said you can’t change anything so worrying Wont help. I can promise you we’ll all be worrying for you! I have everything crossed for you (which made hoovering really difficult!). Please let us know how you get on next Thursday in your own time.

We’re with you all the way. 😘😘 xxx

My thoughts and prayers are with you Cath. It could still turn out to be ok couldn’t it?, and in the worst case it will have been caught very early.
Fill your weekend with lovely things, fingers crossed everything will be ok.

Sending big hugs xx

Thanks, Sylvie

Not long back from my appointment and it wasn't a blurred image. 😞 They did another mammogram and found some spots - calcification- they then did an ultrasound, hoping I could have an ordinary biopsy as the vac biopsy is quite hard for me with my AS. But I ended up having to have the vac biopsy - wasn't as bad as I thought - then another mammogram to check the marker they put it.

Won't get results till next week. I have an appointment for Thurs so please keep all prayers and positive thoughts going.

I'm going to try and put it out of my mind until then - no sense worrying about something I've no control over.

Hugs to all the July ladies

Karen, no apology necessary, I know exactly what you mean. It's because of our previous experience that I'm on edge, and also why I haven't told anyone except hubs - and only because he's driving me to the appointment. 🙂

I appreciate the good wishes.

Congrats on your half marathon time, Clare.

I went for my mammogram last Thursday and received a phone call this morning telling me I need to go back.

Booked in for Friday. Hoping they're just erring on the side of caution, but all positive thoughts would be gratefully received. 😞

Hi Ladies
Sorry not been on here for ages, possibly a good sign that life is getting back to normal? Sounds like everyone is doing well, hopefully all is good with Wendy too and she is too busy to check in!
Not had my mammogram yet that is due in a couple of weeks and then I have oncology in August.
Been off work with Martin for the last week, loving the hot weather and watching the football. Also now the kids are older and no one needs picking up from school, we have sneaked in a couple of pub lunches whilst we should be decorating 😊.
Love to all, Karen x

The book reading actually went quite well. (Didn't end up in floods of tears, so that's a plus. lol)

Your garden sounds so restful - I love jasmine.

How lovely to hear from so many July Ladies. 🙂

Sylvie - lol on the boob letters. Bet you're excited about your Canada trip. Don't stress it. Everything that needs to be done will be done and if not... so what. All you need is your passport and money. (Oh, and your partner, better not forget him. lol)

Clare - thanks for the explanation re your 'last' appt. I'm doing self-assessment so I haven't had any hospital appointments except for my mammogram, which I'm still waiting to get for this year.

Sounds like you're enjoying retirement. Go you!

Gill - I LOVE swimming, mostly in the pool but you can't beat the beach, especially in this weather. Enjoy.

Life in N. Ireland is sunny at the moment. We had a long car trip yesterday to check out houses for our son's return to college in Sept - 5 hours in total - and it hit 32 degrees in the car!!!

Today I plan to stay in the shade. lol

Have fun at your gin festival.

Hi Cath, Gill and Sylvie Eric. Good to hear. Sylvie holiday sounds great. Yes retirement is the key to get the time to do exactly what you like without stress. Thought I would miss work but too busy at the moment.

Cath it think it might be my last appt because I thought one get seen for 5 years then signed off. Maybe I shall get one more appt as not exactly 5 yrs yet. Diagnosed 31st Dec 2013. We shall see. I wouldn't mind being signed off as I hate hanging around hospitals. So depressing. Must be because I spend all my working years in them lol.

Well girls enjoy the lovely weather.

Re: Anyone due to start their chemo July 2014

Evening ladies

Well here I am, in good old Blighty, and the weather's amazing!!  Better than that I'm actually emjoying it too, except for a short spell yesterday afternoon on a site visit when it was way too hot. Still, mustn't grumble.

Has anyone else had their results yet.  I got two identical letters both saying OK at the moment, they must have sent one for each boob! They'll be wanting their own postcode next. Woman Very Happy

How;s the lazyitis going Cath, let me know if they find a cure, I could sure do with it.  I come home full of good intent and then do precious little. Never mind. Gill you certainly don't sound like you're suffering from laziness and neither do you Clare.  Perhaps the key is to retire, maybe then I'll get a new lease of life.  It's amazing, I only need a few days off work and my eyes look clearer and I sleep better, and I feel more energetic.  Only 10 years to go.  Woman Sad

Well only 2 weeks now till we go to Canada and I can't wait. I am however starting to build the pre-holiday stress trying to get all the things doen that you have to sort out before you go. We went to Buxton for 3 nights this weekend and it was so nice just to get in the car and drive, no taxis, no airports, no worry about watering plants etc, it really was lovely.  Think himself is finally comong round to more travel in the UK at last.

Hoping we're all well, shout out to the girls who haven't been on for while, drop by if you get time please and let us know how you're doing.  (I sound like my mother!!)

Re: Anyone due to start their chemo July 2014

Hi Gill, Cath, Sylvie and any other July ladies due for mammogram. Good luck and everything crossed.
I don't have them anymore because of double mastectomy. One positive
I have been busy training and relaxing as much as poss. My running, dog walking and steelpan playing takes most of my day up. Not forgetting my socialising when I can squeeze it in. The joys of full retirement eh?

I completed my 1st half marathon on Sunday in 2hrs and 36 mins. It was hot and Hilly but very well organised.

Hope you ladies are trying to enjoy life to the fullest. My next and I hope my last hospital appt will be on 21st August.
Hugs to all

Hi Gill,

It has been quiet in here, hasn't it? Good to know that we're all getting on with our lives, but also nice to know we still have the forum if we want to catch up.

I'm due my mamogram appointment next month - I think I'm a month after everyone. Here's hoping for good results all around again.

Weather has been fab here and I've been enjoying every minute. Storms came in last night, and it's a bit overcast this morning, but still warm.

I'm looking for an agent for this next book. (Thought I'd try that rather than a publisher this time around.) Haven't subbed it much yet. Yes, I've got lazyitis. 🙂

Enjoy your couple of Dave-free days 😉

Hugs to all the July ladies

Good morning to you all.

I hope this quite posting means that everybody has been keeping well, busy living life and happy.

I am adjusting to having Dave home all the time. With all this dry and sunny weather( except for today so far)

we have been busy hedge trimming if no birds nesting trying to get them to a manageable height. We are nearly halfway round the garden.

I have still been finding time for meeting up with my friends.

Dave is going to a reunion 29 th June for 2 nights so I am looking forward to pleasing myself..

Clare hope your running is still going well.

Sylvie soon be time to pack for Canada.have a fabulous time.

Cath prepare for good weather !!! Have you managed to find a publisher now for your book.?.

Wendy what are you up to I wonder.?

I have a dreadful memory these days and if not written down I just forget things.

It's mammogram time for us all so let's have a year of positive results so that we can celebrate 4 years clear xxx

Hugs to all July ladies whether you post on here or not.

Re: Anyone due to start their chemo July 2014

Hi ladies. I am travelling in the USA with my son. He ran Boston marathon in 2:44 It was the worst weather ever! 1:12 were treated for hypothermia after the run. 24 elites (more than half) dropped out of the race. I am very proud of my son for doing better than the elites by completing the race . I deserve a medal just for being a spectator. I have never felt so cold.

We then went to San Francisco and we are now in Mill Valley and guess what. We both caught the flu. I was amazed how expensive medicine is in the USA. We are lucky in the UK.
Well We hope to get beer by next week Sunday as my son is doing another marathon in Big Sur.
Hope you are all fine

I would like to think we will definitely go back as it's a great place for some winter sun.

Clare, I think you're amazing for doing your running.  I know I've said this before but I really need to get my act together and do some exercise, there's really no excuse.

Despite the poor weather that has welcomed me home the good weather that you all enjoyed while I was gone has really brought the garden on, that was lovely to come home to. Flowers everywhere.

Have a great week everyone, Cath no leaving your writing area until you've finished the next book!! Woman Wink

LOL. Still editing the next book, but shopping around for an agent this time and maybe a new publisher so it may be a while before the book is out.

So glad you had a good time in Abu Dhabi. It sounds very relaxing.

Gill - I'm sure hubs won't know what's hit him when he finally sets eyes on your 'list' lol

Cath, I think Abu Dhabi will be too hot for me to stay too long. The weather here was only about 19 degrees and it felt just right. Enjoy the good weather while you can, it will be back to rainy and cold by the time I return! 😩

Gill, what a lovely start to your husbands retirement. If my husband retires he will be locked out of the house at least 3 days a week or I’ll lose my sanity. 😬
