WolfEE - glad all went well for you today. Must have been scary seeing that lady run into problems
Katie - I had my bloods done today and oncology appt, all good to go for Thursday. Also feel like I'm starting all over again. I will be looking out for your comments nervously on Weds!
LOL that made me laugh, good way to get a bike! My daughter doing work experience in a hairderssers. Her 2 sisters did the same. I dont think we did work experience when I was at school unless I missed it coz we moved to south of France when I was 13-15.
Morning ladies, throat still a bit sore, think I am becoming accustomed to it!
Lovely suprise yesterday.... 2 of my 3 girls came to stay 🙂 Put such a smile on my face. The youngest 15 only here for one night starts work experience tomorrow, and no 2 is here til Tuesday. Feel blessed xx
Reading between the lines it looks like soy is ok in moderation. I've cut out soya milk and yoghurt and just have tofu in a stir fry or similar. I drink almond milk now. As far as yoghurts are concerned, my favourites are the "coconut collaborative" brand (I've bought them in morrisons) and Alpro do an almond yoghurt which is a good alternative to having soya yoghurt. I think it's about keeping variety as there has been a tendency over time to increase soya products just like wheat and what we need is to get more variety in grains than just wheat. So soya seems to have a similar problem for being dominant in the diet when it should be moderated. Tempeh gets a good write up by Jonny Bowden as a nutritious fermented soy product. But who doesn't love cheese? it's one of the hardest things to give up but I'll probably just have an occasional treat of it rather than have it regularly. Goats are more likely grass fed so I'll probably opt for that as a treat. I'm trying to gradually get diary-free until I'm cancer-free, then maybe reintroduce it as an occasional treat.
WolfEE, yes, the Google is a powerful tool and takes you off on all sorts of tangents!
Ive been quite curious about getting to the bottom of the oestrogen effects of soya, myths and facts and found this interesting article (recommended by Jonny Bowden). http://radiantrecovery.com/soy4303html.htm
Morning ladies! We watched a really interesting documentary last night on Netflix called "What the Health". A bit of an eye opener and confirms much of the research of Dr Jane Plant.
MJK, glad you got your cantaloupe, we got one yesterday but had been eating honeydew and galia before that which is still packed with nutrients but doesn't get the same write up for supporting the system during chemo (must be higher in folic acid than the others). Cantaloupe gets mentioned by both Dr Jane Plant and Johnny Bowden for helping toxic effects of chemo and radiation. Sea vegetables like kelp also get a good mention for mopping up such toxins so I might get some kelp supplements.
WolfEE, Treehouse, the itching went away fairly quickly once the bandage was removed, whew! Yes, there is a circle of pin-prick scabs forming. I might do a dot-to-dot and see what picture I can make 😂 I couldn't find a hedgehog emoji so here is a cactus instead! 🌵
I was really curious about the Thief oil so looked it up. Have you read the history of how it was named? it was added to scarves by burglars during the plague of London and they were able to burgle plague infested houses without catching it so it should be good enough to ward off mere cold viruses trivially! ☠
Will do x
Trisha, I would phone your Oncologists secretary as a matter of urgency and try to speak to him. If this Misswhatsit works , then why is it given in one health trust and not another? I suspect that your neutrophils are also on the low side, in which case the chemo will be delayed. I would really push the fact you feel so rotten there is no way you could tolerate the treatment, which would lower your immune system even further. I feel so sorry for you as you sound right mis! Sending positive thoughts, 🏋, and a very gentle hug. 🤗
WolfEE, I know how you feel, when my man had a bad tummy I was really worried about getting sick. I just became obsessively clean, spraying dettol on door handles and stuff. I didn't catch anything though. We agreed that if he gets a cold then he'll sleep downstairs and we'll keep away from each other's breathing space as much as possible.
I took my my bandage off this morning as it was getting a bit itchy and all healing nicely.
its a 60 mile round trip to the Oncologist, I am seeing him Thursday so will see how it goes between now and then. Just bben bought some sorbet x
Trisha, all prescriptions signed off by oncologist should be free. Did you speak to chemo team? X
PMSL!!! 😉 !!! Called the Pharmacy. Miss Tracey (They researched it) is made up of Linocaine gel 1% and Nystatin 50,000 units. Only available on 'Private' prescription and will cost me £150!!!
That'll be a big fat NOOOO!! x
What a beautiful sunny morning it is ladies. About time too! ☀️ Thanks for the bravery medals 🏅🏅🏅which I shall wear with pride. The procedure sounded quite minging in my description and looked quite minging to watch, but didn't hurt. I fell asleep at about 9pm last night then woke up for about for hours from 12-4 drinking water and trying to get to sleep again. I heard the birds tweeting at 4am and stuck my head out of the window for the free oxygen boost! Must be the buzz of the steroids! 👁👁
Trisha, hope you can get the stuff MisyAngel recommended and it works for you. Can you get some on the chemo line as an emergency? Definitely worth a try. If you're not getting sleep you're going to get run down and it will affect your eating too. Sending big hugs all the way to Devon. 💐
Rosie, best of luck with your train journey and general exposure to **gasp** humans next week. Let us know how it is in the densely populated world! I mostly just talk to trees and squirrels when I go out nowadays! 😜
Katie, have a lovely evening of tapas with your man. 🍱🍛🍲🍨🌶
Have Xylocaine, Difflam, Nystatin, Gelclair , Benzydamine, paracetamol and I buprofen. Oh ang Ice cream and honey, just so tired of it. No temperature so loatht to bother chemo line. Ill get there the iredness not helping, your words of support are. Thank u girls xx
I arn't sure I had it in my last goodie bag from the hosptal, wish I lived close to you so I could give you mine 😞
Have googled Miss Tracy can u get it over the counter? Am desperate 😞
Trisha69 I really feel for you, I was given a mixture called miss tracy which was brilliant, I only had one ulcer but it went really quick using that. I think the being awake is the worst part as the more tired you get the more emotional I find I become.
Awake every 2 hours since 10pm. NOT a happy Bunny 😞 Still got ulcers on one side of tongue, looks like indentations from my teeth. Week 3 of antibiotics, countless mouth sprays and washes, just want it to go away! 6 days and counting to no 3 and then all this **bleep** to start again.
WolfEE, I'm thinking of wearing plastic gloves!! and will be armed with anti bacterial spray and wipes. Will def go off peak and told him I can't stay long as I need to leave before people come out of the offices. Also wanted to know who will be in the office and whether they/ their children have been ill. He suggested going for a coffe and I was like but there will be people in there. Perhaps when he sees how much I've changed he'll think a period off sick is a good idea
treehouse, sounds like you have the perfect arrangement!!
