Good morning ladies - hope all is well.
I'm off for Herceptin injection number 4 this afternoon..... x
Mai good luck for results today. Xx
Good luck Mai for results day tomorrow - almost feels like when you were waiting for your exam results again doesn't it?!
Ew, MisyAngel, poor you, that description made me wince! ๐
Treehouse, hooray for homeliness, your own bed, lots of cuddles and fresh toast! ๐ก
WolfEE, if only I'd had better foresight I would have got mine tattooed before chemo! ใฐใฐ
Best wishes for FEC no.3 tomorrow Shi. ๐โจ
Heather, I'm 6weeks post chemo now. You've given me hope that they may reappear! ๐
I have surgery results day tomorrow. Eek. ๐ข
Misyangel, the backwards cone reference is bad constipation from anaesthetic!!
Mai, my eyebrows grew back overnight 8 weeks after last chemo. I woke up one morning and they were there!
Mishy, I felt great for a few days when I finished chemo but then it hit me and couldn't stop crying, felt like I had been abandoned as had no other treatment to come. You do feel better but it takes awhile.
Misyangel, gentle hugs, hope you feeling better after op, take it easy and rest. Try and do exercises 3 times a day, take pain meds then do them after meals to remind you. Drink lots of water otherwise it is a backwards cone experience!
Treehouse, fingers crossed you get to go home today!
โค to all and those who I may have missed.
Still waiting for work to confirm the new phased return plan for 3 weeks today. More than likely they will confirm the night before!!
Heather x
I've got the eyebrow mantenance down to a T now. I was getting tired of drawing them on every day from scratch so I've been experimenting a bit. If you put browcote (or lipcote) on the make-up they last longer and just need a touch up in the morning. This will be important to speed up mornings once I go back to work and tbh I'm getting tired of waking up with no eyebrows and being committed to this routine every morning. Even a trace of residual makeup helps to speed things up as you have the shape marked out and for this reason I've also ordered a permanent brow marker so I can sketch a faint permanent line. Hopefully they will grow back but if not I'll look into getting some eyebrow tattoos!
Well done MisyAngel and glad you are home and on the road to recovery. Yes, the exercises are more important than you realise. What was the wire which had to be inserted? I didn't have anything like that. What surgery did you have? Gentle hugs to you. ๐ X
Treehouse, so pleased that you might be getting discharged. Long stays in hospital really start to break the spirit dont they? Fingers and toes crossed for you luvvie. ๐ X
Mishy, I feel the same about being off chemo. I think you feel like you've been derailed after being on such a strict regime. Once it's removed you feel like your security has been removed and need to find a replacement. A bit like the Moro Reflex in a newborn baby, you want to grab hold of something!
Hi all op went well and the worse part was them putting a wire in the morning as the lady who was doing it was not very experienced as she made the mistake of telling me this, she couldn't do it via ultrasound and had to do it via X-ray machine which was so painful then she couldn't get the wire in properly so I was really traumatised prior to op waiting with a big wire poking out the top of my gown lol. Under my arm is more sore than my actually bust and they only took one lymph node, I have done exercises this morning and will see how it goes as I know a lot of you have said how important that is .thanks for the well wishes all.
treehouse hope they get to the bottom of your infection soon
rosie I know you are in theatre now but my thoughts are with you all Way xx
Rosie - wishing you the very best today.
Lovey you are having the Rolls Royce of reconstruction and you will look absolutely fabulous!!! Sending you lots of positive happy thoughts. Big hugs xx
WolfEE, yes, that is exactly the exercise which I struggled with - the one where you lie on the floor and stretch elbows outwards. My goodness I could only move it out a few inches. I was laughing with my OH yesterday because I was a really good skier for years and now I'm struggling to do exercises to touch the top of my head. Two extremes! For low mood, another one to consider is vitamin D3 which is the sunshine vitamin which we don't get enough of in the winter. Also St Johns Wort but that causes photosensitivity and interacts with chemo so you may need to check if it's too soon to take post-chemo or whether it interacts with Tamoxifen. You could also research essential oils as smells can have an impact on mood too. X
Katie, just make sure you keep giving yourself lots of pampering, you'll get there eventually. We don't realise how much we've had to put our poor bodies through sometimes and getting rid of side effects after all that will take a bit of time and TLC. X
Good for you Jay. ๐ I can't believe how smug I was feeling with stage 1 exercises and thought they were a bit of a waste of time but now realise I really do need them! ๐ช๐ผ
