Thank you Sue and Shi xx
Thought I'd got 12 more to do, but found out yesterday I've only got 7 more I start the boosters next Wednesday and I'm going to have two per session instead of one, so now finishing a week earlier! (Didn't know you could have more than one booster at a time) Finishing on the 12th now, although yesterday me and YD signed up for a couple of therapies, so will still go back for that.
You're not keen on the hotpants then Sue?! I've still got the hotpants I used to wear! My ED wore them when she went to a 70's themed party! xx
Look forward to wearing the silver hotpants Shi! xx
Glad I've got everyone on here for support, people who haven't had bc don't seem to get how difficult it is at times. Surprisingly though a collegue who had bc sometime ago, is one of the least sympathetic! I don't understand that, I'd like to think I'm more empathetic now xx
I can tell I'm tired, I can't string a sentence together properly! I meant to say I'm getting more tired, not more getting tired! xx
Thank you all so much for your kind wishes, I've really appreciated them x
Found last week quite hard-it was the anniversary of my mum's death, YD had boyfriend problems and I was told I'd got an extra 2 weeks of rads-I know in the big scheme of things it's not long, but found it difficult to get my head round it and also being told I might not get back to school before the end of term.
Feel a bit better about it all this week, although more getting tired, (slept all yesterday pm and I didn't even go to rads!) think it's a mixture of the journey and the rads. Also quite sore now, especially by my collar bone and under my arm-they said today not to use deodrant on that side-I'll have to make sure everyone sits on my right side, lol!
I think I'd be happy just to reduce them from sweats to flushes! Weirdly they did seem to reduce when I changed brand of tamoxifen so I'm going to keep an eye on that too.
Thanks Jill! I've tried acupuncture and that seemed to help reduce the daytime ones but the nights ones wake me every two hours ☹️The acupuncturist told me not to go back to her as it wasn't working so I'm now looking for a new remedy. Might try the knicker magnets then 😊
Hi Ali, glad to hear you're doing ok even if the SEs from the herceptin and letrozole are giving you a few problems. Is your hair growing through curly? If it is then that'll be why it's getting thicker rather than longer. Unfortunately growing out curly hair can take a long while as it grows out rather than down so you've got some big hair to look forward to 😂🤣😂
Mishy to make the curl cream you melt the coconut oil and shea butter together and then mix in the aloe Vera gel. I make mine using 1 tbsp of each (3tbsp in total) and put it in a small jar as it lasts ages.
Jellytot, lovely to hear from you!
Jencat, keep going with those rads.
Sorry ladies, I'm going to mention nether regions again! You can always rely on me fir that 😂🤣😂🤣 My mum knows someone who recommended magnets in your knickers for menopausal symptoms apparently it's working for her. I had a quick look into it you can get them from boots but they're £35 and I also read that it's some money making scam that doesn't work. Not sure what to do now, £35 is a lot if it doesn't work but worth it if it does 😕 Has anyone else heard about it or tried it?
Morning everyone Just a quick hello as I'm off to rads, but wanted to let you know that I'm ok and thank you all so much for your lovely wishes xx
I use my homemade curl cream which is made of equal parts coconut oil, shea butter and aloe Vera gel. I only use it straight after washing it, You only need a tiny pea size amount and it can make it look a bit "wet look" but the next day I just wet it and style it with my fingers and leave to dry and it doesn't look wet then. You use the same as wax. Curly hair is better the longer you leave it after washing it. I have always found mine looks rubbish the day I wash it as it tends to go soft and fluffy. I also find washing it with conditioner only helps calm down the fluffiness.

Oh mate I can understand your frustration at the extra rads, but as your daughter said it is only an extra couple of weeks and then you will be done knowing that they have given you the best treatment.
Oh that is wonderful news about the genetics and such a relief for you all.
Sending you hugs xxx
Jencat, that's brilliant news about the genetics test, sorry to hear your rads is longer than you thought but you'll get through it!
Mishy, sorry to hear your son isn't on board with the test as you had to fight hard to get it done didn't you?
Im so excited about our meet up! 🤗🤗🤗
