Hi Reboot that's a nice idea - would be great to put new fitbit to full use 😁 How do we do it?!!

I’m definitely thinking half and not the full 26 miles! ☺️

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

I’m a bit too fat and unfit for 26 miles but I’m seriously considering the half marathon, reckon I’ll be able to walk for 4-5 hours by then. Anyone else?

Does anyone with a FitBit want to set up a Workweek Hustle or Weekend Warrior Challenge between us? I find it great motivation to get out (on good weeks) xx

Mishy hope you aren't too bruised after your fall. ♥️💕💕💕 I know what you mean about suddenly being rudely reminded about how delicate this has all made us despite having to be tough as nails going through it all in the first place.
I have taken to wearing my proper hiking boots out everywhere after we had that first lot of snow as I really really don't want to fall over and get internal bleeding from the blood thinners I am on in the middle of chemo 😧

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Hello lovely ladies, snuggled in front of the fire catching up on the days events ♥️♥️💕💕
Wig got an outing today, blush and lippy on and nails painted coral to match my new Fitbit 😁 And had coffee out with OH whilst nanny took DD Christmas shopping for a Christmas dress 👗 Nice to feel a bit more human again.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Shi and Meesh I think we will all be well and truly spayed by the time chemo is finished with us 🙄 I love that you have the Wonderwomam outfit already 😁 Will have to check it out.
Runnerbean hope they don't find any nasty bugs in the cultures and it is just T effects and you get to come home soon. We know ultimately it is always better safe than sorry with chemo and here is my dance to get things sorted soon XXX 💃🕺👯👯‍♂️💃🕺👯‍♂️👯💃🕺👯‍♂️👯💃🕺💃🕺👯‍♂️👯💃🕺
Sue oops!! Hope tonight is better - we really don't want fried Sue XXX
In terms of body I am starting to get really p'd off with the effect the steroids are beginning to have 🙁🙁 my face has changed shape and is very puffy in the first week or so, I can also see it causing fat deposits in areas I Have never had before and it seems to be bulky out my shoulders and arms which have always been pretty slim (I am all Beyoncé bottom - three sizes different between my bum and
Waistline!!!) I am also getting those wierd hairs on my chinny chin chin - not sure if it the steroids or apparently the C is a bit of a hormone disrupters 🙄🙄
My legs were still 🦍🦍 and lady garden and arm pits totally wierd so gave in and bought that lady shave to sort things out! A 🦍🦍 in gold hot pants was not the look I want to rock!!
Love to everyone ♥️♥️♥️ Oh Meesh yes I would be into doing the walk 😁

Its a shame though as its good to know that the staff are clued up with chemo issues but your hospital is looking after you well
Bloody went flying yesterday in car park at Morrisons yesterday on black ice bruise arm and elbow felt daft cos I started crying and a man got out of his van to help me as my hat came off!!! Shi, I'd never arrange details on the open forum but just wondered if anyone wanted to do the walk, they'll be loads of people there so I think we're fairly safe just disclosing whether we're interested or not. I think we have to register fairly soon as they have limited places. 😊

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Hi ladies, hope your enjoying your Saturday. Still no luck in getting released although I had a much better doctor today who understood why my blood tests made no sense and explained it all to me. I can’t have Imodium or antibiotics until they are sure there is no underlying reason for my tummy troubles. The Imodium because if there is an infection it will make it worse and antibiotics because they may make my stomach worse so only to be given if they find a reason to do so. All being well all the culutures will be back by tomorrow and as long as nothing shows up I will be good to go with industrial strength Imodium to try and sort it out. Just need to speak to the onc next week about how to manage it ongoing hopefully she will have some ideas. A quick question as well the hospital have been giving me B6 I think it is tablets and I’ve not heard of anybody else having these? July would work for me if it does for everyone else although I can book time off pretty much whenever so can work around those that can’t xx

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Hi Lesley, that’s my point with them. We have established I have no infection or anything it’s just bad luck I have got this side effect. Just give me some Imodium and I will happily go on my way. My husband can care for me at home just as well as they can here so I’m surprised they don’t want the bed for a really sick person. It seems it’s more my high heart rate with low blood pressure that they are worried about but I have always had low blood pressure and isn’t increased heart rate a side effect of T anyway? Xx

I can also confirm I only have the edges of lady garden left. Nothing in the middle which looks a bit odd. Just waiting on the Doctors verdict on if I can go home or not so keep everything crossed for me ladies 🤞. Hope you all enjoy your weekend and the strictly final tonight xx

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Morning all. Runnerbean i hope you get home today..can they not just give you something for the diaorreah and let you go?

We had to tell docs too. But to be fair to them they are not cancer or chemo specialists and thats the problem when we havecto go through a and e. The people who have units dont have the same problems. Every doctor and nurse i have met has been lovely even if they havent fully understood about chemo and the SE's - which is frustrating!!
We are becoming the experts!!

Jellytot that nurse you had - a chemo nurse - hasnt got a clue! Pain - yes! Diaorreah - yes! She really has no excuse!!

Hope everyone has a good day xx

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Meesh, same for me with hair loss under arms are sparse so I shaved those a week or so ago. Doesnt seem to be growing back. Leg hair was just ridiculous I could feel it wafting in the breeze so that got shaved the other day. And lady tuft is the same just very sparse.

Sorry if I put the thought of your head hair all going in one fail swoop. Wasn’t my intention 😳

I don’t think T causes hair loss so it’s possible it’s starting to grow back WhyteFawn.

And apologies to those ladies who I should know the names of but I can never remember the pairing of user name to name. I don’t even think I can blame the chemo 😳

Hope everyone has a good day x

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Still have quite a bit of lady tuft too. The hairloss there is weird as I've lost it in the middle but not at the edges, so Good job my Wonder Woman knickers are short style as I otherwise I might be sporting spider legs out of the sides! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Cassie also meant to say. I never lost all my underarm hair, what I have left is quite fine and fluffy.

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Mum and sister have now gone☹️ They've left lots of pressies for us too! Might have to wear my Wonder Woman knickers today too as I feel a bit sad now they've gone.

Cassie, that dream certainly sounds like a chemo journey! I had a dream the other night that I touched my hair and it all fell out, hope that's not going to come true 😕

Shi, hope you're starting to come out the other side. This first round of t certainly seems to have knocked you sideways.

Karen, glad you're feeling a bit better and that you're new friend will be buying you a 🦄 Definitely reckon you should ask for the selfridges one, that'll test her! 😂😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Chaffinch, happy for you that YD is home and cheering you up. My sister has the same effect on me she is a bit ditsy too.

Sue, think you may need some Tena lady pants as 💦And ⚡️ 😵😵😵

Just having tea and a mince pie (my mum bought some of the chocolate orange ones from Aldi and they are 😋😋😋) then need to have shower and get dressed. Might go out for a walk and then snuggle on the sofa with the cat and a film later. Can't wait for strictly final tonight 🤗🤗🤗

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Have I read before that hair can start growing back on T? Right tmi I know but I haven't shaved under my arms since I started chemo. The hair fell out a bit and left a short stubble but hasn't grown. This morning I go to put deodorant on and there's some fine fluffy hair there. How strange!

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Morning beautiful ladies!!
Slept a bit better last night. No hot feet which was a relief. I even had a dream. It wasn't too weird. Me, mum and my sister got on the tram in Sheffield. We sat chatting away when I realised that we had gone into town and back out again heading back home. I didn't know what stop we wanted so asked mum but she didn't know as she didn't know exactly where the place was we were going to. We we ended up getting off the tram (that had turned into a double decker bus by this point) and trying to work out where we needed to go. Sounds like a chemo journey. We all get on that tram we know where we need to go but the journey itself it's a bit of a mystery 🤣
I'm off out for a carvery today with my archery friends. Very much looking forward to that.
Runnerbean I hope you can get released today. Hope you're feeling better.
Have a fantastic day everyone

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Morning ladies, hope SE ease today.
Runnerbean, I hope that they release you today, sounds like you’d get better care at home!
Had a lovely evening with YD it’s do nice to have her home. She is such good company and as ditzty as ever. She had been wondering why her milk had been going off in her uni fridge and realised that when she was shoving food into her shelf in the fridge she was knocking the temperature control. She thought that the temperature knob in the fridge was a dimmer switch for the light inside it. Her boyfriend put her right! It made me laugh so much I nearly choked on my satsuma. Laughter is definitely the best medicine 😊
Hubby has gone out to get a few bits for our chickens then is coming back to cook breakfast. Then we are going to finish the Christmas shopping. Tonight is Strictly final, we are getting a Chinese takeaway and I intend to open some bubbles too 😊
Have a good Saturday ladies x

This is a temporary moment on this journey, keep looking forward, keep hope and keep strong. Our 🚂is doing amazing we need to remind ourselves how far we have come already and get our bums ready to hang out the windows when we get to pull into the station in a few months time 😁😁😁😁wishing everyone a beautiful day and hope se’s ease off and hope we get everyone back on 🚂soon 💕💕✨✨shi xx

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Morning ladies....cold seems to have disappeared just left with a bit of a cough!  Had a nice evening last nite...chatted with a few friends and felt normal for a few hours which is sometimes all we need, was a little bit of a confrontation with my OH and a customer so I took my hat off to calm the situation...worked wonders 😂 the blokes girlfriend came over to speak to me and was very upset by her boyfriends behaviour then decided she’d like to be my friend and wants to buy me a unicorn....pub life!!!!

Meesh glad you had a lovely eve with your mum and sis....will be looking for TOTP later...😊😊...enjoy the rest of the time with them before they leave 😘 xx

Sue...glad you slept better but understand ur concern about wetting the bed....none of us wld be happy about that.....especially if heated blanket is on 🙄💥💦

Buddy hope you’ve caught the uti in time!

Shi...did you sleep ok after being in bed so early again....this cycle def seems to be zapping your energy!!

love to everyone else xxxxxx
