CK, wow you always amaze me meceuth how much you manage to fit in!
Cathysid, what a shame about eyelashes and fingers seeing as you've got your last treatment this week! Hope it goes well for you!
Ali, hope you're recovering now at home!
Hope everyone's staying warm and toasty in this cold weather 😊
So pleased you're home Ali! Curl up and relax and listen to Christmas songs!
CK, you've had a busy busy week.. how do you fit so much in..! Glad you are enjoying your run up to Christmas despite everything else..way to go!
Meesh I am so pleased with what my surgeon has done I have shown everyone whose asked
My hubby reckons he has seen my boobies more in last 4 months with me keep getting them out than in 30 years of marriage xx
Yes it's so clever what they can do. Everyone was surprised that they cut round the nipple so I wouldn't have a scar on my cleavage, not that I wop my baps out much these days 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Meesh my consultant said he moved some breast tissue around too to he said they do that to try and keep as natural a shape as possible x
Hi Cathysid, mine was on my cleavage the lump they removed was 18mm but took 26mm to get good margin as I had quite a bit of dcis. I had 3 nodes biopsied which were clear. I am a b-c cup so not much to play with and it was my smaller boob too (of course it would be, wouldn't it?) They cut round my nipple to remove the lump so no scarring on boob but they did move breast tissue around and it looks ok. I have a couple of tiny dents and there us still some brown marking on it (had op Aug 7). It did really swell up though and was in the severely bruised category (according to bcn). The op is ok just keep an eye on the swelling as it's difficult to know what's normal. As with chemo if you worry about anything call the bcn.
Hi Cathysid, front fastenening is definitely a good thing. I wasn't advised on bras at all apart from that they shouldn't be under wired. I found the m&s one fairly late on and it was good. Can't comment on the Asda ones as didnt realise they did them. I tried to use a sports crop top at first but found getting it over my head difficult. So would definitely recommend a front fastening one with good armpit clearance. I also use some nice ones I bought in Tesco which are not front fastening but are padded nonwired and have good armpit clearance I think they were £10-£15 for a pack of 2.
Morning Ali, hope you slept well. Also hope breakfast is tolerable..
I absolutely can't believe your high neuts number, you're clearly doing something very right, but also clearly your temp was also too high, well done you for ringing in and getting yourself clinically seen to. You are going through the wringer and I continue to wish you well. Please though don't stay too long. Hope they get you home today! X
im on the same - docetaxel, carboplatin, herceptin and pertuzamab(my team call it TCHP)
Ive just put a post on the thread on "top tips and practical support" forum about side effects etc. ITs not a common protocol but there are a few of us.
My diagnosis is oestrogen positive, her2 positive, G3 stage 2-3.
Im having my 6th tchp next week. I've survived and my cancer has shown complete radiological remission so it's definitely been very effective for me. The first chemo was the roughest! Keep a diary so you know what to expect next time round. Side effects are day 3-8 usually. My side effects got less severe with each round, but I got tired ear each time.
good luck x
How SamH87, I am sorry not to able to fully answer your question as not sure what PTCD is, but I know I'm
not taking anything that could be abbreviated to this, to my knowledge. 🙂
What's your diagnosis details, might help other ladies to understand if they share the same diagnosis as you? I'm TN though. Do hope you get a response. Apologies again.
Oh Ali, I'm so very sorry you're back in Casa NHS, I can't believe it! One can't win on chemo can one, damned with high neuts and damned with low neuts..I really hope they get you stable enough to go home to your own bed tomorrow.
If you can smuggle some neuts to my hospital chemo centre by by FedEx marked Urgent - for Fairydust only, not to be shared with anyone else- that would be great..I will treasure them forever. How high are your neuts and how high was your temp if you don't mind me asking? At least you're in the best place you can be for your infection, but scary how fast they can come on.
Sleep well. My thoughts are with you.
Grateful for your thoughts Meesh, Shi, Chaffinch, thank you. I will let you know what my team suggests, I think they're going to arrange some sort of meeting to discuss next steps but they best not admit me to hospital, as I feel fine other than excessive sweats and temp but no fever.
I shouldn't have gone to Ikea yesterday. A lady in the restaurant at the table behind me had a terrible hacking continuous cough and a snotty nose she kept blowing, now my nose is snotty too. But had flu jab so ought to be ok.
Hope you're all having lovely evenings. I'm eating pasta in sauce and garlic bread. Have an appointment with my surgeon tomorrow morning to look at my surgery scars, must floss and mouthwash tonight and tomorrow so as not to smell of garlic all over him!
I asked about what I could do re: boosting neutrophils when I went for chemo on Tuesday as my bloods were 1.55 this time and our cut off is 1.5. They have decreased each time so was worried about next time. Anyway, the nurse said that there's nothing you can do. Neither diet or rest will effect the count, she also said it could bounce back up the very next day. I was told if mine were low next time they'd give me injections, but Fairydust if you've already had them I don't know what to suggest. It's so annoying though.
Grrrr, Chemo delay again for me. So no first T till next week maybe.
Neutrophils 0.6 this time and that's with 5 steroid injections. Although nothing recommended by the nurse, she'll speak with my oncologist team tomorrow and then call me to advise what I ought to do. More injections or something else.
If they don't suggest anything stronger or alternative, I will take the Bio-strath and also vitamin D again maybe? I think it actually works. I can't abide the honey unfortunately.
Well done to all those on T and thanks for sharing your side effects. I feel equipped to cope when I finally do start.
In meantime, still got decs to put up. The trees are done but living room still needs doing. Haven't bought any Bailey's Irish cream yet..My traditional tipple whilst doing the decs! What's your favourite?
