Chemo for 2a and DCIS????

Hi,

I’ve had surgery recently (WLE and ANC)  and they found three tumours, smaller one needs further excision shortly. We only knew of one, it was hiding the others!

Lymph nodes - 2 positive

Told main tumours measure 39mm.

Also told have DCIS which was a shock as it had not been mentioned before.

Staged as 2a, but pictures seems to fit 2b more from my reading. Graded 2.

ER+, HER2-

Every appointment throws another curve ball into the mix! Also having seromas drained, my needle phobia is being put to the test!!!

What are people’s experiences of being offered chemo with similar pictures? Have been referred to oncology but don’t know how long it will take to get an appointment. Just trying to get a feel of what tends to be offered to others in similar situation, oncotype not done as lymph involvement is an exclusion criteria.

Hi lizandsarah,

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this.

As you haven’t had a reply from the community yet, do feel free to give our specialist breast care nurses a call on 0808 800 6000, they can let you know about the different treatment plans offered to people in similar situations.

We also have some information on chemotherapy on our website that you might find useful: breastcancercare.org.uk/information-support/facing-breast-cancer/going-through-treatment-breast-cancer/chemotherapy

I hope this helps, take care,

Becca at Breast Cancer Care.
