Re: Chemo pulled

You've done so well to complete 9 treatments already.  I'm starting the same regime as you this week.  My Oncologist said the treatment would be up to 12 weeks depending how well the tumour shrinks, have you had a good response to the treatment and could you tell me how quickly it responded?

Yes I only had 4 lots of chemo rather than 6 because of low blood counts. I think it is common.

Re: Chemo pulled

I only had 4 out of 6 EC due to adverse reactions. I ended up in hospital each time. The primary concern is your safety as it is so easy to get neutropenia , or even sepsis if you pick up something and can’t fight it due to a low blood count. I’d already had my op, so after my body had a rest I went onto radiotherapy. That was two years ago and I’m just chugging along. Good luck. X

Chemo pulled

Hi everyone .Just wondering if anyone else has had this. I'm only weekly paclitaxol and carboplatin for 12 weekly sessions but three have been pulled due to low blood count . I have completed 9 out of the 12. There's now talk that I might not have the last there which is worrying me..i may go straight to surgery and possibly continue with chemo after. Has anyone else had this?? Thank you in advance xx
