The Paxman is much easier because all you do is put the cap on and it get plugged into an electrical socket. The Penguin cap - well caps you need a few of them mean you have to have an ice chest and change the cap about every 30 minutes as the ice melts.
Paxman has only recently become available in the USA because the insurance companies refused to fund it (they said it was cosmetic and as such unnecessary) Even now some refuse but some allow it - if yours refuses is cost about $500 per session and most people get 6 sessions.
I searching feeds actually for my mom who's about to go through treatment. My mom will start paclitaxel chemo treatment after her double mastectomy. Can you tell me which cold cap you recommend or liked the best? The doctor recommended Paxman but another friend recommended Penguin. I tend to trust the doctor, but want real opinions of people who have experienced them.
I had great results from the cold cap and used it for all my chemo sessions. Don't wash your hair too often and never under a shower. I did not use and special shampoo, just whatever I had indoors but I did use a leave in conditioner. I washed it, patted it dry, sprayed it with leave in conditioner then combed with a wide tooth comb. THEN I LEFT IT ALONE.
