Hi,
It sounds like I'm a few weeks behind you. I had my 1st of 4 AC treatments on 11/11 and will have my second on Monday, 11/25. I'm not doing cold capping. From everything I've read it sounded like alot of trouble and mostly unsuccessful. I'm expecing my hair to start falling out next week. I also had shoulder length thick hair. I chose to be proactive and got it cut short a couple of weeks ago to ease into it. As if that is possible. I did so well with the first treatment I'm worried about the next one kicking my butt. So far I've only had mild headaches and mile nausia at times. My biggest problem has been falling asleep. It's great to hear what others are going through. We've got this.
Yes I agree it’s stressful, but I have a friend who is three months out of chemo (and cold capping) and she made a good point..we notice the missing hair, but others don’t. I’m willing to keep fighting!
Hi there. I've had 2 out of my 4 AC chemo- having them every 3 weeks and have been using cold cap. However despite this I have lost approx 70% of my hair. I had very thick shoulder length hair to start with and have found the whole hair loss experience very distressing. I gave purchased a wig but still can't accept or get my head round the hair loss and desperate to hang on to what hair I have lefit and tend to wear a Baker boy cap. Too scared almost to was my hair as each time I do it becomes a tangled mess and usually means more clumps falling out. So really appreciate how you feel and would be great to hear from others who feel the same.xx
Hi vaneysha,
I’ve done two rounds of TC and did the Penguin cold cap. I’d have to say my first three weeks were good and then come right before my second round of TC I had a lot of shedding. It was around day 21. I was told day 20-26 you have a large shedding. I’m still shedding (day 26 today), but praying it slows down. It’s actually been extremely stressful for me because I’m seeing so much shedding. I will continue to use the cold cap and stay positive as I know that if I wasn’t using it I would be bald by now and that was my one main fear. For me when I found out I had to do chemo the one thing I feared was losing my hair. I have a three year old and was diagnosed 3 months ago while still pregnant with my littlest one. My life is as flipped upside down! I want to try to make this whole journey as normal for my little ones as possible and to me that means mommy looking “the same”. I have two more rounds of TC so praying for a good outcome. Also, praying for the anxiety of all of this to decrease as well. Good luck and we are all in this battle together!
Hi
I had TC chemo, but didn't cold cap. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Vaneysha ,I have floated a thread about cold capping to the top of the list for you - it has lots of good tips .Good luck with your treatment .Jill x
Hello
I'm starting EC chemo x 4 fortnightly and then paclitaxel x 12 weekly, from this coming Wednesday. I will be trying the cold cap but I'm really pessimistic about it so will follow this thread with interest and let you know if it works for me. I'm so nervous about it.
Hi ,if you join this thread you will get lots of advice and support from people going through chemo at the same time as you .Best wishes Jillx https://forum.breastcancernow.org/t5/Chemotherapy-monthly-threads/October-2019-chemo-starters/td-p/1...
Hi there. I don’t have social media so I’m hoping this support helps. Anyone recently starting TC treatments or have done TC treatments and cold capping? Looking for some support or people who have or are experiencing the same as me. Thank you in advance!
