ive just received the results of my first mammogram which showed no suspicious features so I’m relieved about that. Next one in a years time, I guess I can say I HAD breast cancer ... hope you are all keeping well xx
I don’t really know what to say to ease your mind but as I said I was called back very quickly when they found something and I was very lucky it turned out to be nothing more than a cyst this time, (which I was told on the day of my ultra sound)
im currently having radiotherapy then will come to the end of active treatment as such....just (🙄) hormone therapy..... so yes I’m ok....and consider myself lucky ( in a funny sort of way).
just be mindful that results letters may take a bit longer with Covid etc.....so no news will Be good news!
I think screening mammograms are scary any time but especially after having BC so I know how you feel. I have had BC cancer 3 times now so have had a good few mammograms! if there has been an issue to follow up then I have received a telephone call within the week ......for every mammogram that’s been clear it has taken between 2 and 7 weeks for a letter to arrive confirming this.
I am picking up on this thread having done a search on the forum as I have my 1st mammogram since diagnosis a year ago and full treatment.
Although I have been told I am cancer clear, my anxiety is of course high.
I am also still quite swollen/tender potentially with some lymphodema in the breast but have had that for months now so will just advise the clinic that I am anxious and of course a little tender.
Any other recommendations on how not to worry too much.
I am going to also ask how long for the results and whether it will be a phone call or a letter as feel I need to manage my expectation on this so am not stressing too much.
After reading your post I just wondered how your appointment went and if anything was found. I’ve just had my first mammogram after diagnosis last year and am now anxiously waiting for the results
I've just had my fifth yearly mammogram after finishing treatment and I still find it majorly anxiety provoking -waiting for the letter to arrive is awful - I'm always terrified opening it.Hopefully you will get the results quickly and put your mind at rest .Jill x
I hope you are ok and that everything was fine. I can imagine your anxiety just going for your 1st mammogram after a year but to then to be recalled again for further tests must just have been awful for you. I have my 1st yearly mammogram coming up on the 1st September and to say I'm a little anxious would be an understatement. I had triple negative breast cancer so know there is a higher chance of it recurring in the first 3 years which is playing on my mind.

On Monday the 3rd August I had my first annual mammogram after being diagnosed last year with BC,
i was worried and a little bit anxious about it, but trying to be positive I thought there’s not much chance of anything being wrong (it’s only been a year right)
but ive just received a letter asking me to come back for more tests tomorrow as abnormalities have been detected🤦🏻♀️
Im still trying to remain positive as I know this could mean a number of things but I’m getting a bit worked up now,😔
