He is a Siberian Bengal x. Chosen because I have allergies and they are hypoallergenic breeds. He is just adorable!

Ahh Sue he's adorable, part Bengal did you say? Will be very vocal! We have a tabby we inherited from our son who we swear has Bengal in him because he never shuts up!! 🙉 The very reason he now lives with us!! 😂

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Oooh Sue - is Oliver a silver tabby?  He looks absolutely wonderful -  don't tell my muted tortie Ruby, but I really think tabbies could be my favourite, with silver tabbies at the top of the list.

Nice to hear from you Dellywellydingdong - I'm more myself now. Doc was brill as usual, am having knee x-ray & being referred urgently to knee consultant - may need a new knee as I scored 17 on Oxford Knee thingummybobby. Typical that today the pain has become so much better and I could actually get up and downstairs without crawling!

Jill,so sorry that you've had to cancel holibobs and that hubby is suffering, but now that he is experiencing pain himself, he might give you more sympathy (please ignore this if I'm being too rude/inappropriate/nosey/or any combination thereof). Hope the physio is helping you.  Funnily enough , just phoned to see where my physio appt was for my hands (having waited 3 months), to be told that appt letter is in the post!! Hmmm.

I'm keeping right out of the sun, miserable non-sun worshipper that I am, just a hot sweaty mess-maker.

Big hugs to each and every one, and

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Delly we had to cancel our holiday ( second year running ) as husband broke his arm and couldn't drive - that along with all my difficulties with walking etc just made it too much of a challenge .☹️

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Hi Delly
I get a check up every 6 months..... I think it's just the way our hospital works. I have a mammogram in the Summer and then an appointment with the oncologist in the Winter. She deals with the on going hormone therapy and does a quick check too. They are very good at dealing with appointments but terrible with giving out results. Takes them ages!

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Hi, lovely "Hug" girls

Just having a catch up on yers. So sorry to hear you're all suffering horrible pains and debilitating fatigue. What an absolute bu**er for you's.

Rubes - Have you had your appointment yet? Hope it sheds some light on your probs and you can get some further help.

Jill - Jeez, I'm so sorry you're still struggling so much, and about your hubby's wrist. Where are you off to on holiday, and when??

Sue - That's brill on your Mammo results. Forgive my ignorance, but why do you have another in only 6 months? I presume the course you're going on, is related to your ME/CF, is it? Will it be dealing with diet, exercise and such? Yeh, I'm so with you on the heat. I feel I'm being a real mis, this time of year, as I find Summers difficult to deal with fullstop, since menopause and hot flushes, nine years ago. Glad for other people to enjoy though. Roll on Autumn, I say.

Anyone heard from Jobelle? If you're looking in, Hi, and hope you're doing okay. Actually, I'll just send her a quick email.

Loads of love to you all

Dellywelly xxxxxxx

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Good news about mammogram Sue and some progress re the fatigue .With the ME I found that identifying food insensitivities and allergies helped a bit - I became a lot more sensitive to things after I was diagnosed.Im having a bad one this week ( leaden legs ) and I think it is because I have had to take strong painkillers for leg pain .Yes I am also struggling with the extreme heat - haven't been out much at all this week .

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Hi Ladies

A little up date from me.....

After some consideration they have decided i have got  me/cf s after all! Going on a course starting next month. It can't really be treated as such, just managed i suppose. But it's nice to have that diagnosis so that people can understand.

Also finally got my mammogram results....All Clear!! Huge sign of relief😀 Can breath easy again for another 6 months xxx

Anyone else struggling in this heat? Makes me feel quite ill at times.

Hugs xx

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Thanks Ruby ,you sound like me just one thing after another - can't remember what it feels like to be " normal" now !! To add to the difficulties husband has had a fall and thinks he may have broken his wrist - will have to go and get it checked out - don't he will be pushing me in the wheelchair then ... and looks like I will be doing all the driving bad legs or not 🙁

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Jill, sorry to see you're struggling with joint pains as well as other stuff.  Thought  I was out of the woods, then after having wrist pains, which have now disappeared, my knee is giving me jip & having to use my ma-in-laws walking stick (only indoors, not outside yet, but that might happen). Has been 2 months now, & actually now got an appt with the doc who takes me seriously, for next week, so although there has been quite a big improvement, I'm not right yet & it has really got me down. Fed up to the back teeth with just one thing after another .GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Still, a specially big hug to you and to all the other lovely people here.

Oh I am so sorry that you are still suffering so much with your joint pains.  It is hard not to think the worst especially when you anxiety levels are high any way.  Have they said how long you will have to wait for the apts.

Sending you loads of hugs and love

Oh mate sorry to hear about that but Jill's suggestions sound worht pursuing just to see if they might help xx

Flipping heck that is a good few weeks now, as you say I would have thought if there was anything they would have been in touch, but again they do not think about the person on the other end of the mammo who is anxiously waiting for the "all clear" letter.  I am getting heartly p**"ed with hospitals at the moment and trying to get someone to answer a blasted telephone!!

Sending you hugs xxxx

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Not great Sue - being sent for various investigations re leg /joint pain which is now debilitating to the point where I've just hired a wheelchair to use in our holiday 🙁.Trying not to let my mind going to more sinister explanations for the pain but hard not too .What a dreadful year it has been just seem to replace one challenge with another !

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Hi Ladies

All very quiet on here.......?

So, finally had my fatigue assessment today ( yes, I know, went to the gp in Nov last year!) Turns out i have chronic fatigue, but not chronic fatigue syndrome! Not bad enough apparently!! Even though I sleep at least 10 hrs and it takes me most of the morning to get going! So I don't really know where I go from here. Back to the gp I suppose.

Still waiting on the mammogram results....would like to think that no news is good news.....

How are we all today?

Hugs xx

Oh mate that is hard, I really feel for you.

I am fine just waiting for my MRI now on 5 June.

My best friend and I went out to lunch yesterday at a posh michellin star restaurant.  When we have a special birthday year we push the boat out and do something.  It was totally unbelievable, a treat for the tastebuds and an experience of food that I have never had before.

Very overcast here today but I am doing my washing to put out as it is very warm so hopefully will dry

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Thsnks for the warm welcome Delly!!! I stopped the methotrexate as due to it being a chemo drug albeit in a very low dose i was catching every infection known to man due to my workplace being a haven for bugs!! Shingles twice included!!! As the arthritis wasn't a severe case the rheumatology doc gave me some steriod injections into the joints which were playing up and agreed i wasnt benefiting enough to be always being off colour!!!
I will shy away from its use now as being a cancer survivor i would prefer not to take this kind of drug for an arthritic problem long term and my celks becoming accustomed to it i would prefer any chemo to work to its full affect if( touch wood ) i need it in the future 😨
Anyway enough moaning about th3 joints for me im alive and relatively well atm which is enough for me lovely thread you ladies have here and lovely speaking to you x Jill i really hope you get on ok at the joints clinic don't be put off any suggestions for meds by me as everyone is different xxx

Re: Need Hug or Kick up the Backside

Hi girlywhirlies,

Haven't been on for yonks, so way behind on yers.

Jill - hope you get some answers and help with your leggies (I know, baby talk sorry!!) at the rheumatology dept. It must be so horrible for you. Bad enough your mental state isn't particularly good, without the joint probs and discomfort of. Awww, I feel for you. And yes, when you think about it, hormones - oestrogen espesh, plays a huge part in bone health. Is why menopausal women are often prone to osteoporosis.

Mishy - A big warm welcome to you. I can remember when studying arthritic joint disorders in my Podiatry training, that Psoriatic Arthritis was considered the worst, most destructive and painful, out of all of 'em, along with gout. Perhaps your chemo had steroid elements in it that quelled and dampened your arthritic probs, so you're now feeling it again now since you stopped the chemo. Chemo alone's so destructive to all sorts, in the process of treating the cancer elements - bit of a Catch 22. What probs were you suffering on the Methotrexate?? I do hope you find something that helps. Anyway - that's grrreat you've fininshed your chemo and rads - a huge massive step over with - yahooo. Well done gal !!!

Hey Moijan - Sorry you're having leg probs too. Crikey you lot. You don't hear about moth infestations very much these days, perhaps due to the advent of synthetic carpets. There's got to be something, aromatherapy oil wise, to treat them. What did they used to soak moth balls in?? Made me laugh, your OH's comment on the sh*t word. Sounds like he may divorce you, if you uttered the 'F' word !!!

Lady H - Am going to have a read of you on the Fluffs thread. Anyone heard from Jbelle belle??

Bye for now girls, lotsa love Dellywelly xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
