Re: Over 1 month wait after diagnosis worry

Hi there,

Sorry you find yourself here, but try not to worry - I had some delays after surgery as I had an infection after (don't worry - only 5% get that my surgeon said) and was simultaneously diagnosed with skin cancer - and nearly 2 years after diagnosis I am here to tell the tale, with so far no sign of recurrence. But I admit that the waiting game was hardest.

Thank you Sue, it’s just so worrying as you worry what harm it could be doing. I will check that section out now. Xx

Re: Over 1 month wait after diagnosis worry

Hi Magpie
And welcome to the forum.
So sorry that you have found yourself here. The worse time is the initial diagnosis and waiting for treatment.
I had various delays at the start of my treatment, but it didn't alter the treatment. I think it was over a month before I had surgery.
Please try not to worry, as initial delays are common as they try to get everything right for your treatment.
Try popping over to the Just diagnosed section, as I'm sure there will be many ladies on there who will reassure you.
Best wishes
Sue xx

Over 1 month wait after diagnosis worry

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and saw a Dr who advised I have a mammogram as have further pre-cancerous cells in my right breast, my left breast is clear, I have received a call from the nurse to say I am HER2 Negative, I am just worried as first went on 1st August with a couple of further appointments cancelled, to receive a letter today to say I have an appointment on 11th September! I am very concerned and would like to receive any responses if this is normal?
