I'm so glad you found a great surgeon. I will have to check out that honey ointment. Anything i can do to prevent infection will help. I'll run it by my doc. Thank you for suggesting it. 🤗
Better now thanks found an amazing surgeon that has helped. I would definitely recommend getting some medihoney to put in your wounds that was the only thing that got rid of my infection in 48grs it’s unbelievable xx
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom! My mom passed 6 years ago from lung cancer and not a day goes by that I don't think about her. HUGS.
I am so sorry you had to go through that. How is everything now? Were you able to get rid of the infection? I'm having a double mastectomy this coming Friday and am hoping everything goes well. Keeping my fingers crossed. My team has made me aware of the risks and have prescribed a lot of antibiotics. They also tested me to make sure I'm not a MRSA carrier as that will effect what they give me. How is your reconstruction going?
Thank you for commenting and sorry you haven't had a response to this post yet, hopefully someone will be along shortly to continue the conversation 🙂
We're so sorry to read about the loss of your mum - sending you our warmest wishes x

Sending you our love and positive vibes,
never used something like this before but wanted to chat to people in similar situations.
so end of jan this year my beautiful mum lost her fight with bc. She had it 3 times over 25 years and was amazing. My mind was made up to have surgery to take away the high risk from family history. Start of March I was referred to chat to a surgeon - it all moved very quick and two appointments later (3 months) I was booked in for the op.
as I wasn’t in the right head space I hadn’t realised we hadn’t discussed anything, not about procedures, complications or the mental impact. I had my op in November this year and had nothing but complications. The surgery was easy no pain at all. Week two I started to get an infection. The surgeon hadn't seen me at all and was due to see me 8 weeks after surgery. They tried to get her advice during infection but she was to much to come to the ward. One week later the infection spread to both boobs (reconstructed with expanders) and the skin was dying. They made her come up which I waited 4.5 hours!!! She started to cut the skin away and pierced something so infection squirted everywhere. I then had to go to emergency surgery which was terrifying. Anyway long story short I put a compliant in as I didn’t trust her and transferred to the head surgeon. I can’t seem to get rid of this bacterial infection. I’ve had suction drains in endless antibiotics it’s been a nightmare. I’m also finding massive mental health issues that I’m now having as I wasnt prepared or in the head space for this!
I would love to hear others stories on their experiences xx
