I read this about sage ...Sage is known for its minty flavor and pungent aroma but turns out it can pack in a punch against cancer. This herb has been found to induce cell death and reduce growth in melanoma cells, colon carcinoma cells, and hepatoma cells.4Sage basically has many bioactive compounds with beneficial effects. Ursolic acid, a compound present in it, has been found to be particularly effective at fighting cancer. There is mixed answers with this herb

hi

i was told by the macmillan nurse to avoid supplements.  plant phytoestrogens although not proved conclusive as bad, as i am ER+ i would rather not add more into my body, just in case it turns out that they are bad.

i changed the time i took my tamoxifen and the hot flushes are more manageable now.

Hi

I took sage leaf capsules and agnus cactus during my menopause. The sage leaf only had sage in it so in the end I decided to save money and just incorporate more fresh sage into my cooking. You can also make sage tea. No one seems to worry if you use herbs in cooking but it becomes a problem if you take it as a supplement.

Have you tried the menopausal magnet, it takes awhile to work but after about 4 weeks my night sweats are down from every 2 hours to only 1 a night at about 4 am. I did stop putting it on and they came back so I guess that proves they help. Good think is its not putting anything in the body. You can get them in Boots and are about 30 pounds so won't break the bank. I also read about plant oestrogen not being good. Xx

Try again with a response this time!! Hi, I have been taking them for 6 days now and have noticed a moderate improvement to hot flushes which has been a welcome relief. I did ask my BCN before starting and she asked my onc who said yes, no problem, however by chance last night I saw on the macmillan site, they did not necessarily recommend supplements with plant phytoestrogens so I am going to ask again. It all gets very confusing .....hope you are okay 😄 Cheryl

Anyone using sage leaf capsules for hot flushes while also on Tamoxifen?

These were recommended to me following hysterectomy in January this year, I had been taking them for a week when I had my 2 year check, I saw a nurse practitioner who advised I was best not to take anything herbal as I don't know what's in them and how they may affect the Tamoxifen. I have now stopped but suffering quite badly so just wondered if anyone is taking both without any problems please? Xx
