Brand of Letrozole

Re: Brand of Letrozole

Just been given my first prescription of Letrizole which I picked up from the Lloyds hospital pharmacy . Checked the make after reading this thread and mine says Dr. Reddy's. Does anyone know about this brand? Is it a brand? It's made in Spain and distributed by Dr. Reddys Labs in Beverley. To be honest, not looking forward to taking it. Already have painful knee, so this isn't going to do it any good . Onco says take ibroprufin.

Thanks. X

Re: Brand of Letrozole

It is a worry changing brands.  Pharmacist has managed to get one month's supply of Accord.  He is now trying to get more.  Thank you Sue for telling me about Superdrug.  If things don't work out I shall go there in future.  This site is so supportive and helpful.  Many thanks to you all.

Re: Brand of Letrozole

Thank you everyone for your replies.  I am going to call into various chemists to see if they can obtain Accord and then change name of chemist on GP electronic prescription.  Might have to go back to collecting paper prescription from GP.

If it is anything like my GP they were not able to specify the brand on the prescription, she told me to have a word with the pharmacist and see what they could do to get the Teva brand that I wanted.

Hi I agree

My pharmacist has been very good at getting accord for me, I would go to another pharmacist if they didn't get this brand.  I have noticed on the forum that Accord does seem to be the preferred choice for many of us.  Xx

Re: Brand of Letrozole

I get mine from Boots and my prescription is marked accord .. I have had cipra a few times and just can't tolerate it's side effects ...but everyone is different.
Do stand firm as it's a long haul treatment and you need to be able to cope.

You could try taking the prescription to another pharmacist or at least enquiring if they will provide that particular brand.  I believe Boots can be good for getting a regular brand.

Brand of Letrozole

Hello everyone.  I had a double mastectomy in September last year.  It was ER positive and the sentinel lymph node biopsy was negative.  Fortunately, I did not need radiotherapy or chemotherapy.  I have been on Letrozole since then and I have requested the Accord brand.  My pharmacist now tells me today that he can no longer get Accord Letrozole and has got Cipla instead.  Worried about changing brand as side effects have not been too bad on Accord.  Is anyone else taking Cipla and how are you managing?  Any advice much appreciated.
