Re: Letrozole shortage?

Ok. Thanks for that. I'll have to speak to my GP.

Re: Letrozole shortage?

Sorry it’s 10 days I’ve been back on Accord, hence  me saying one week /two week.

Re: Letrozole shortage?

I think my change for one month proved everything to me,  I thought I would give it a go. It’s really no fun changing from an active 50 odd year old, contributing to society, etc etc, to an individual who had to be helped out the car.  It’s emotionally devastating - and I don’t think people get that.  I was walking round the kitchen gripping the sides.  Two weeks back on accord and i am definitely better, although not perfect.  I will be going up to the Hospital if I don’t get what I need.

That is exactly my worry. I haven't had too many side effects with Accord. I'm really worried.

Re: Letrozole shortage?

Hi all

i have been on Accord with side effects, but bearable.  Last month I was given Aventis, as pharmacist can’t get supplies of accord.  Results utterly un-describable, could barely walk.  Now back on accord for one week, and nearly bearable again.

our pharmacist has said he only has 3 packets left.  I am going to get these next week, and if they are gone, I will be ask8ng for Femara.

Re: Letrozole shortage?

I can but am worried I might suffer from side effects.  I'm used to Accord Letrozole and worry I might have different  side effects with a different brand. I might not have a choice though.

Can you get another brand to tide you over.

I have just tried to get Accord Letrozole. Cannot get it at all. I'm in a panic.

Re: Letrozole shortage?

So sorry to hear that, it causes added stress doesn’t it.

Hopefully you will get some , I was resigned to taking any brand in the short term.

The pharmacist told me I would have to go back to my GP to get a prescription for Femara if they couldn’t source anything else ...

that would have been really good if I could have got that as it is considered the best but very expensive . I had to ring round several other chemists until I found one with stock of Accord Letrozole

A lot of ladies recommend other brands.

Good luck.

Let us know how you get on.

Re: Letrozole shortage?

Hi Happyboobs,

I live in the Cardiff area, and checked with the main branch of a major pharmacy chain before handing in my most recent prescription. They told me they always make sure they keep Accord as a matter of course.

I hope you have managed to find a suitable supplier now.

Re: Letrozole shortage?

Hi,

I requested my prescription on Fri and asked for more than 1 month’s supply as I work away from home but was told only ever can give me a max of 28 days.

collected them today and got just 14 days of Dr Reddy which is a new brand to me and when questioned at the Dr.’s was told to ring back tomorrow once they ask my dr...so not sure if this is the same problem?

Re: Letrozole shortage?

Hi Happyboobs,

That is rather alarming news, I wonder whether it is a local problem? I have a prescription to fill in the next week, so will let you know how I get on.

I really hope they get some of a suitable brand for you by the time you need it.

Letrozole shortage?

I tried to get my Letrozole prescription today, my chemist ( large chain ) cannot get any.....at all. I phoned around and managed to get 1 packet of 28 of Accord and when that chemist went on line to see what she could get she said there wasn’t any available ....of   any brand and she would keep trying.

She also told  me that if I cannot get any by the time I have nearly finished the pack I would have to go to my GP and get a new prescription stating Femara as that was the only one available at the moment .

Has anyone had a similar experience?
