Good morning all,
Quick pop before heading off to the dentist. It’s still hot and sunny here though wasn’t so humid last night in bed, mind you, flushes don’t take account of the weather, still coming every hour regardless.
Hope you all have a good day xx
Ruby, that's just what my face looked like at about 3 this afternoon! It was a shock going to work today after the sunshiney weekend, which was so lovely. Mind you, I have taken Friday off this week, so a nice short week for me.
A quick pop in between catch up TV. The cooler evening saw me taking the risk and planting out beans, squash and courgettes. Made a good break after the office. I hope everyone is doing okay, especially if you are waiting on tests and results. Much love xxx
Evening all
Well I am absolutely shattered, been playing in a league match tonight, it was a lot cooler this evening thank goodness, if it had been last night I honestly dont think I could have done it.
Had dinner and just chilling with a glass of wine before bed, early start for me tomorrow xxx
Evening willowy fluffies - Lesley, the inside window shattering is obviously Himself's fault, he must have looked at it wrongly. My Himself is also not allowed to do any hedgecutting unless I am home as well. One time he ended up cutting straight through the wire and ended up in a heap on the lawn - he can barely be trusted to tie his own shoelaces (so he has to wear pull-on shoes - called ? loafers - what a peculiar name!)
Thought it was just me being a fair-weather gardener - too hot yesterday, so. like you Helena, I waited till about 7pm when it was delightful.
For all you working fluffies: xxx
Janey
Must admit I only managed a little in the garden today, it was far too hot. I managed to do some weeding in my border at the bottom but then nothing more until 7 ish as it was just too hot.
Oh well back to the rat race tomorrow. I cant believe that the temperature here is going to be 13 degrees lower than it was today.
xxx
Alibobs
She certainly did, my opposition team member was desperately doing everything he could do try and beat me, he thought by doing a long end jack I would not be able to get there, but your mum made sure I did 🙂 🙂
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend xxx
Lesley
Oh that fab news about the window, yes very odd that it cracked in the inside.
Enjoy your vino, and looking at the fruits of your labours in the garden.
xxx
Ha, our hedge trimmer is cordless, Himself is more worried about me loping bits of myself off rather than damage to the hedges. Somehow I always seem to cut myself when chopping/peeling veg so I’m banned from using the electric carving knife.
Double glazing man popped in earlier. Great news, only pane of glass needs replacing not whole unit, will get back to us later in week with price. He’s a friend so will fit us in as and when, we’re easy as know he won’t overcharge. Really odd thing is that we hadn’t noticed, the glass it cracked on the inside only not the outside pane, very strange!
Almost time for a vino on the patio, it is a bank holiday after all xx
DIzzy
Ha ha, that is exactly what happened to me, so I was banned from using one.
xxx
When I used a hedgetrimmer it was the cable that didn't survive. Now we have cordless one.
Well this is a first for me in about two decades, I'm sitting in the garden in a sundress and no bra. There are some consolations to going down a couple of cup sizes! Just hope no one comes to the door ...
Lesley
ooohhh we need pics of this garden and all your hard work.
Yep I have to agree with himself, I dont touch a hedgetrimmer, did it once and the poor bush did not survive it. I get the chap who does our lawn to do our hedges and the bushes at the front, he does such a lovely job.
Am just about to go outside and potter xx
Good morning all,
Another scorcher. Yes, hopefully lack of activity on here is because everyone is making the most of the beautiful weather. Yesterday I had my second bash at gardening. Just a bit of weeding, very satisfying I must say. Between himself and I the garden is looking ok. Just the shrubs need a hair cut but we both agreed it’s not a good idea to let me loose with the electric hedge trimmer (images of chainsaw massacre come to mind)
Glazier is coming to look at broken window in the week. Without actually seeing it yet he thinks he’ll probally be able just to replace the glass and not have to replace the whole unit. I reckon it must have been a red kite as we have literally thousands of them round here and they’re massive. Yesterday afternoon I counted 50 in the sky at the same time circling above our garden. Funny to think, a few years ago I used to get excited when I saw one, now they’re a flipping nuisance.
Time for coffee in my tidy garden, enjoy your bank holiday Willows xx
Charys
Wow, that is incredible, yep I think it must have been because of the weather.
I spent the day pressure washing my garnde path, absolutely no pics of me were taken during this period, but suffice to say, I was absolutely soaked. I then put the new garden lights in. We spent the whole afternoon outside and actually managed to have dinner on the patio.
Just waiting for the shopping to arrive and then I am off into the garden again, got a lot of digging to do today.
Have a fab day everyone
Helena xxx
WHATTTTTT a whole day (yesterday) without one post - that shows the weather was AMAZING.
Lesley
Oh I was a very good girl today, I drank nearly a litre of water, it was very warm. I had a really good afternoon bowling, was rather surprised how well I did, my arm seems to have gained some really good strength in it, I just hope it will keep up for the whole of the season.
And I had my hat on dont worry xxx
Oh Dizzy, your heart must have nearly stopped. What a girl Daisy is though, got to hand it to her. Most dogs will take off on land after squirrels, rabbits, deer etc, but to swim out like that out to sea, well, as I say, what a girl!
Walked to town and back earlier and it’s so hot, guess we’ll all be complaining about the heat now. I wore jeans, big mistake! Need to sort out summer cotton pants but doubt the nice weather will last.
Hope you remembered your water Lady H, far too hot for chucking balls about with plenty of liquid and a big hat. Xx
Morning to all the early birds! What a beautiful morning, I'm having a quick coffee and then off for a Daisy walk. We took her to the beach yesterday and I thought we'd lost her, she was swimming after the seagulls and ended up so far out to sea we could just make out this tiny head bobbing around. Luckily it was very calm and the birds flew in the right direction or she'd have been half way to Cherbourg. So no more off-lead beach walks. And since she does the same on land chasing deer, rabbits, pheasants, squirrels...it is such a shame, but she's too adventurous for her own good. So it's the lead all the time now.
Apart from that, it's a day in the garden and at the allotment for me. Have a lovely day fluffies!
Clair
Have put mine out, it is already really warm out there, will need to remember to take my water bottle with me this afternoon when I am bowling, it is going to be rather warm, total opposite to Tuesday evening when we played.

I have just noticed that we are only 57 posts away from 10,000. Charys when you started this thread did you ever imagine that we would reach that figure and it be such a comforting, lovely place to be that has supported so many of us in so many ways
xxxxx
The answer is absolutely NO, I never could have imagined that nearly two years later this thread would still be trotting along. Its truly amazing, and its testament to the rest of you that it remains as a place of support. (as I'm often absent!)
Helena, you know what, I had no reason to be up but was up at 5.30!!

So it is a bank holiday and I can sleep to my hearts content!! No I was awake at 6.30 and gave up at 7.15 as I was just lying there thinking I need to get back to sleep.
The up side is I am enjoying a lovely bright sunny morning with a cup of tea and contemplating putting my washing out
Have a lovely day everyone whatever you are doing

Oeeeee, aint it quiet!
So H, you are going to be my 'gynae-guru' okey dokey
Charys
Not that you would really want to know about it, but stick with me kid I will soon be an expert on this 🙂 🙂
Hope everyone is doing something lovely for the bank holiday we certainly seem to be forecast a sunny one.
Sitting having a cuppa waiting for the grass to dry enough to mow it.

Well, I'm now totally lost with all the hysteria scop biopsy blahdy stuff, its not in my field of knowledge, luckily - I just know its causing stress for you Helena. I'm sure it'll all be sorted out at the next appointment, and hopefully it can all be put behind you.
Leeeeee, you are SO strong and resilient, and I KNOW, I just know, you will get through this awful situation just as you did before. xxx
Clair, keep hanging on in there xx
Evening my lovelies. Helena, Clair, Lesley and Lee you're all in my thoughts at the moment and completely understand the tears Lee. Helena good to get the full test and they can check you properly, which we all want them to do. Clair that must have been so frustrating and I hope you don't have much longer to wait now.
Love to all xx
Well, lots of hugs for you anyway.xxx
Ruby
It probably did not help that I opened the envelope with the bloods request in and read the notes. It would have been better had the explained it all to me first.
No the hysteria scope is the Hysteroscopy, what I was having on Tuesday as an endometrial biopsy, what the difference is is anyones guess. I think with the hysteroscopy you have a local aneasthetic xx
Oh love the cuddly cats feeling the love
Helena xx
I think medics just talk their own language and shove bits of paper at us, thinking they have given full and helpful explanations - which they have not! Helena, lots of hugs coming your way too, and does this mean no hysteria scope now? I'm a bear with a little brain and I'm getting confused. Is there not some anasthetic for the end of the metric biopsy? I'm keeping my legs crossed. xxx
Jill
Well to be honest I thought it was going to be the hysteroscopy and it was only when I saw the leaflet that it said something else, then this today, it just sends your anxiety levels through the roof, you would think that knowing the background to why I was there they would have explained things better to me xxx
Fluffies
Well things have changed today in what is happening to me.
I had a call today to say that my procedure is cancelled for next week. The specialist nurse looked at my report and said that she wanted me to have a hysteroscopy anyway so did not want to put me through the other one as well. So I have learned today that an endometrial biopsy is different to a hysteroscopy. Apparently they want to take some biopsies, dont know how I feel about this, just want it to be over and get back to my normal life once more.
It is going to be done on 16 May. The nurse said that I should be able to go back to work afterwards as I do not do a manual job but if I was able to take the rest of the day off then I should do that. My boss has just told me to take the whole day off as the apt is at 11.20am.
I have spoken to my best friend and asked her if she could take me and bring me home, so I am being very sensible.
They told me to take painkillers about half an hour before to help with the possible discomfort afterwards.

Lesley
I wonder if a bird has hit the window. I know that happened to our neighbours, we were in the garden and it made a real noise put a big crack in the outer skin of the double glazing 😞
Lee
Oh mate there certainly are.
Dont blame you for not letting anyone else know, you have enough to think about without having everyone texting you etc., as you say.
Never forget that we are all here beside you and always will be.
Sending you loads of hugs and everything crossed for a good outcome tomorrow
xxx
Lee, this must be so horrible for you, I'm not surprised your husband's accident added stress and fatigue. It really seems to be just putting one foot in front of the other to get through the day and think sometimes we can block out really painful thoughts by going through the motions, but it does somehow catch up. Always good to have a cry and let some of your pent up feelings out. With you all the way over the next couple of weeks and hopefully this hug will reach you. xxx
Clair, you have not been over panicking - am sure we'd all be in a blue spin when a consultant finds a nodule. It's hard being back in a place we don't want to be, but one step at a time and we're always here for you.xxx
Clair, I don't think you did over-panic. If the surgeon definitely feels something and doesn't know for certain what it is, it needed to be checked out. As Charys said, they were concerned enough to bring the mammogram forward. It doesn't mean there's definitely a problem, just that there's something which needed investigating. And until you get the all clear you're bound to worry, we all would. Once you've turned up positive once with BC, it's hard to remember that most lumps aren't anything to worry about.
I'm trying not to worry now, both my boobs are a mass of lumps and dents from where they've moved everything round, when I lie down they sort of cave in leaving bumps and hollows. But I know I have big cavities and a lot of scar tissue, I have to pin my faith on the mammograms.
Lee, I'm glad to hear that you know what the plan is, full axillary clearance but not a mx? And how long for recovery before you start chemo? We'll be holding your hand for the head scan, and I hope you get the results through quickly. The shock of being back in this stage must be horrible, you're doing a great job of sounding positive, but we're here for the times when it's all too much and you just need to talk about how it really is.
Well, she must have said something Clair, otherwise they'd not have brought the mammo forward. Clearly she wanted something checked out. x
