himself managed the best night last night since  the whole thing started.  He’s back in a great deal of pain this morning though and unlike the nurses I can’t persuade him to eat anything.  I’ll leave him for a few hours then insist, the amount of drugs going into him it’s imporatant he eats whether h3 want# to or not.

Really quick pop in as not in Long  getting himself home from hospital albeit armed with a carrier bag of drugs.  Pnemonia and other infections all under control but got a course of antibiotics and steroids, plus muscus drug, 3 types of painkillers and thankfully bottle of liquid morphine and extra strong inhalers, with that lot plus his normal drugs we both hopefully we get some sleep tonight.  They said he’ll in in considerable pain for some time and needs complete rest for a while.

Oh Janey, so sorry, what a worry and so far away,  couldn’t get further. So glad your sister is close at hand, that’s some comfort at least.  I’ll be sending good vibes down under xx

Helena, I shouldn't think you're likely to get results tomorrow if they take biopsies. But they should be able to tell you what the camera shows.

It's a good idea taking an overnight bag, I wished I had after the last operation, those hospital gowns left me feeling a bit insecure...but hopefully you will be fine, going down in the morning gives you longer to recover.

But bless you, this has dragged on a long time, so I hope you get the answers quickly.

Thank you all so much for your best wishes, I am really hoping that they will be able to tell me tomorrow and that it is all good news, feeling very nervous now, but about to go off and play bowls so that will distract me for a while.

Will let you all know tomorrow when I am back home.  Had to go out and buy a pair of jimjams as I have none and they are still insisting that I come prepared to stay over if necessary and I am insisting I am coming home tomorrow.

FLippin eck, yep that makes sense how dangerous that was with his blood being thin and the break etc. The combination could have been catastrophic. However, thats the past, he is in the right place and I'm sure they will patch him all up and get him back to you to cause more trouble !!!!

Hopefully he'll improve now he has antibiotics and oxygen and some decent pain relief. Fingers crossed for you both that tomorrow is a better day, we'll be thinking of you.

Hopefully in future he will not be so stubborn and let you call the doctor when he is unwell, they are just amazingly obstenant.  If I am poorly then I get nothing but grief off Colin to go to the doctor, but the other way round is a totally different matter.

Evening all, and thank you all for your lovely kind words of support,

Finally home from hospital with a large glass of vino in front of me, it’s been a long long day, left here just after 10am this morning.  Firstly, inr is the thickness of blood, His has to be thinned by taking warfarin, his count needs to be an Inr count of around 2.5, higher the count the thinner the blood so 5.8 was extremely dangerous, he was highly likely to suffer internal bleeding, and that’s without a moving broken rib.

As they said last night, pneumonia, Lung and chest infection, heart rate very erratic very high temperature, plus after X-rays they’ve found rib actually broken (not just cracked) and trust him in two places so the bit inbetween the breaks is freewheeling around, hence the excruciating pain plus the danger of damage internally.  They said there’s not usually anything you can do to repair ribs it’s just time but in this case it’s risky so he needs to see a bone specialist  though not sure what can be done.  He’ll see specialist tomorrow.  In the meantime he’s on an antibiotic drip, oxygen mask, morphine every two hours plus another drip (not sure of what) and various other drugs to try and regulate his heart.  He’s still in a lot of pain and breathing not too good but a much better colour.  I have to say they really are looking after him.  They did say lucky he got there when he did.  

Going to finish vino then make a sarnie and try and get some sleep.  Thank you all again for caring xx

Well he is in good hands now and they will be pumping him full of anti biotics which will soon start to take effect.

Wasnt it lovely, her dress was stunningly simple, i loved it.  Yes the minister was very entertaining but then we all knew it was going to be a very different wedding

Update - hospital just phoned me.  Theyve admitted him to the acute medical ward, pnemonia, infection, Inr 5.8 (should be 2.5) scan in the morning to check for internal bleeding.  So much for the gp saying rest and take painkillers.

Did you all watch the wedding?  Loved her dress, thought it was stunning, enjoyed the whole wedding though  think the American minister made the most of his role, the look on the faces of the guests made me laugh, not really the British thing xx

Aw, thank you for comforting words.  No Janey, of the two people I could have asked to take me over to the hospital, one is away on a glamping weekend, the other is at a party tonight.  All himself’s friends will have a pint or five watching the football.  My sister is in the States as her daughter there is very poorly, mind you,  she lives in Wales so not exactly on the doorstep for lifts.  Just poured a large vino, probably not the best thing to do but got to toast the bride and groom xx

Hello all,

Hope you’re all enjoying this lovely sunny day.  I’m having a pretty bad day.  Enjoyed watching the wedding and was thinking about dinner when Himself took a turn for the worse, phoned 111, spoke to a doctor and once  again an ambulance arrived within 10 minutes.  Here for over an hour doing various checks then phoned doctor back at base.  Eventually they decided to take him in for an emergency chest scan as may have bleeding in the lung (broken rib, on warfarin). They advised me to stay here as the nearest A&E is several miles away and said by the time he’s sorted it will be late and if they keep him in I won’t be able to get home but if they don’t keep him in they will get him home.  I feel awful just sitting here not knowing what’s happening to him, times like this I get so angry with myself for losing my nerve driving or i could have followed on and waited with him even though he didn’t want me to. Xx

Hi Helena, the old waiting game 🙄. I’m in for a pelvic ultrasound on Monday to double check a cyst found in my scans on my left ovary. I had a ‘chocolate’ cyst (I had Endometriomas removed in 2015 (same spot) and now this one is 7cm long (which explains the pain) so will need a procedure to have it removed sometime soon. The tamo has definitely caused changes too.
It’s a roller coaster eh?
