Thank you for replying so quickly. Your right it’s targeted therapy (just changed the header 🤦🏽♀️) going with chemo brain for that mistake 😂
So happy that you’ve had minimal reactions, quite hard finding much about people’s reactions as it’s such a new treatment.
Thank you for the tips and advice, I really appreciate it! X
Hey!
I and at least one other are on Kadcyla for primary BC which is apparently a very recent use for it. Because of this I am a bit unclear as to what it classifies as - I didn't think it is Hormone Therapy. Herceptin is deemed a Targeted Therapy but Kadcyla has a chemo element to it as well. *shrugs*
Anyway I digress. I just had my third cycle of Kadcyla yesterday and I think I'm doing okay on it. I do have some peripheral neuropathy in fingers and toes but that may be from previous chemo, surgery or radiotherapy. I bundle up against the UV rays on sunny days as I think they give me a bad reaction. As with all of these treatments - keep well hydrated.
Let us know how you go 🙂
Hi ladies!
just wondering if their are anyone on this support network who is currently on Kadcyla?
Been told it’s a new hormone therapy drug being used in my case instead of the standard herceptin. I had surgery (Lumpectomy) the beginning of the month and unfortunately I didn’t get clear margins so next step is mastectomy and as their was traces in my nodes I have been advised that this is the best hormone drug but only just been given the go ahead to be funded by the NHS.
As this treatment has a element of chemotherapy in the make up the symptoms list is extensive and didn’t know is anyone currently on it could let me know how you are coping??
