Hi @yellowroses84, I hope you find our Forum helpful. There are many people here who learn from other people's stories, and share their own if they wish to.

We have a team of breast cancer nurses who are always happy to help. You don't even have to go far if you need to ask anything - you can post in the Ask Our Nurses board right here on the Forum.

We're here to help if you need to be in touch!

Went from Breast cancer to Secondary in a matter of weeks

Hello, I'm new here. Almost 4 weeks ago I noticed my nipple was inverted, and a little bit of pain (more like itching) on my breast. I went to the doctors, who quickly referred me to the hospital. I had an ultrasound, mammogram and biopsy on the same day. A week later told it was breast cancer; ok I could do this! But then I went for an MRI (what a horrible, noisy machine) and a CT scan. The next appointment just a month from noticing my nipple, I was told it has spread to my liver and spine. Now it's secondary, now it's... scary. So I said goodbye to the first doctor and nurse, and have seen sent to a different hospital to meet a new team and get a bone scan on Wednesday. It seems surgery is off the table, and I'm back to waiting for results. When I read about secondary, most people have beaten breast cancer first. Has anyone found out like I have, that it's there and spread, and there to stay? I am the first person in my family to get this, and right now I feel like denial/flippancy is a good way to go. So I'm  doing that. I'm 37.
