Callback after 1 yr mammogram due to calcifications

Hi there

Been a while since I posted here - been a long year!! I was diagnosed with grade 3 tnbc in Jan 2017, and had lumpectomy to remove 2cm lump + area in same breast which biopsy came back clear on, but was removed as a precaution. I had 6 rounds of chemo and 15 sessions of radiotherapy.
I had my mammogram a month ago and today someone phoned me to say there are a couple of calsifications in my other breast that they want to biopsy in 2 weeks time - my head has just gone into overdrive - can’t believe this is happening again! Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi Claire ,sorry you haven’t had a response .I speak to a lady who got recalled from her second mammogram post treatment because of calcifications - she had a biopsy and they were begnign.Fingers crossed for you - 2 weeks is a long time to wait .

Thanks for the responses - biopsy is tomorrow and I’m looking forward to it like a hole in the head ? Then it’s the wait of course for results…

Good luck today Clare .

Thanks Jill. All over and not too sore. Apparently report initially came back saying the calcifications looked benign, but with my history obviously it still needs to be checked. Won’t hear results for a couple of weeks. More waiting, but have a busy couple of weeks ahead, so that will distract me

So rubbish that you have to wait 2 weeks for these things isn’t it - busy sounds good .Let us know how you get on .

Just a wee update. Results back a couple of days ago and all clear, thankfully! ?

Claire what a worrying few weeks you’ve had but wonderful to hear you have the all clear! Xx Jo

Great news Claire.
